Eye color?

Hello. This is my 1st post, hope to get lots of info and advice from everyone. We just put a deposit down on a sweet little girl! We are very excited and get her in 2 weeks.....My husband was raised with a wonderful laidback female...She had one eye blue, one was brown...Our new girl also has the same. Is this fairly normal?

WooHoo! Another Michigan person to meet up with! Welcome!

A few dogs on the forum have an eye of each color. I call them wonky eyes. :) I love them! Clyde just has brown eyes but I love him just the same. :P
Welcome to the forum! :)
One of my girls also has one blue on brown :)
My Drez also has one blue and one brown eye. I love it! So unique! And yes, in OES, it is fairly common.

Congrats on your upcoming pup! Looking foward to pictures and stories!
Thanks everyone! Figured it was most likely common, also the breeder told me it was! We were really considering a Boxer, our friends have had them for 20 years and we love the breed. But this came about by accident and my husband and son both got very excited. We have been waiting and researching for 3 months! (Our cat of 14 years passed away, figured it was time for a dog) She will be 6 weeks this Weds, we plan to go take more pics tomorrow, then I will post one! I am sure I will be asking you guys alot of questions! This is very new to me, my mom always trained and raised our labs when I was growing up!
I will read the section on crate training, we plan to do that. I am a stay at home mom, but still need to run errands!
My baby has a blue and a brown also. Anybody know about deathness on the side the blue eye is on?
I'm assuming you mean deafness? I don't believe that eye color alone, particularly in a single eye, has any correlation with localized deafness but there are others more knowledgeable than me on the subject.
I know that there is research that correlates light eyes and white heads with deafness but it's on a genetic level. I'm not sure it would apply to onesided deafness.
Hmmmm, looks like it's time for some more in depth research.
YIKES! yes I mean deafness.
One brown, One Blue is called a wall eye, it is preferred in the breed standard rather then 2 blue eyes. Very common in the breed.
Panda has 2 big blue eyes....no deafness, just selective hearing
LOL Darcy. I think that is very COMMON to the breed. I have never had an OES without selective hearing.
Welcome! Jasper has one blue eye and one brown eye also.
