Just in case......

Okay, most of you know that Brian and I are leaving for vacation to Hawaii in a few days.....we dont have anything permanant for Panda if anything happens to us....

My mom said she would take and love Panda(which I know she would) but she lives in a condo in Fla....My sis cant take her because she is allergic to dogs..and I dont want Panda to be an outside only dog...my only hope is my brother who has a Newfoundland and is used to big dogs, but there is no guarentee that he would want two...

So, I am asking you all(and I have told my mom, sis and next door neighbor) that if anything happens to us, that all of you would find the perfect home for my baby....I know its kinda morbid, but no one thinks of the animals and Panda is my baby...so here are a few requirements just in case....

1. Must be walked at least once a day and taken to the dog park at least twice a month
2. Must play hide and seek or other one on one games
3. Must be kissed goodnight in this order.left ear, top of head, right ear, left cheek, top of nose, left cheek and then whispered into left ear ..momma loves you, momma will see you in the morning..sweet dreams, I love you.....
4. spoiled rotten and taken everywhere feasable...
5. Kept in the lifestyle that she is acustomed too......
6. Just really loved and apprciated for the wonderful dog and pet that she is.....

Again, I dont mean to be morbid, but this is one of my biggest fears...Brians family just isnt going to take care of her the way I would...so they're all out and my family has issues too.....

Just promise me Panda will be taken care of ....thanks...xo Darcy

ps...can you tell Im afraid of flying????????

LMAO...you are so much like me Darcy!
I want you to know that if anything happens to you I would be happy to take Panda.... I am only telling you this because I am hoping it will give you some piece of mind. You are morbid!!!
But honestly, I would take her in second.
So tell whomever you have to... so they know.
Thanks E...you were on my list, but I was afraid of three dogs and two kids that it might be too much....I know you would love her up....but just in case you cant.....lol...I am morbid...it took me HOURS last night to fall asleep thinking about this......... 8O
You could count on us following all of your directions. Would take your baby in a heartbeat.

Have Fun!
The more the merrier :D REALLY!
Besides you know how much I enjoy drama.... lol
I just seem to be drawn to it.
Enjoy your vacation darcy :D Hope you both have a lovely time.

You can send panda to OZ

You know you bring up a very good point, I have never really thought about WHAT IF!!

Now you have me thinking as the boys work and the girls are use to having me home with them and I do everything for them Whooo must re-evaluate things 8O

Who doggie sits panda while you are away?
Her right cheek must be jealous of her left cheek.
I don't think you're morbid at all Darcy. It's perfectly natural to make plans for your babies "just in case".

You can rest assured Panda will be well cared for -especially with Elissa!

I've told my family exactly what is to happen in the event of my death. My babies have trust funds set up for them. :D
Have a wonderful time, Darce! I think about this too when we go out of town. I know Mom could take care of our pups, but the dogs would FAT PIGGIES! I'd like to volunteer to be Panda's godmother...I think she'd really like it at our house and be treated like a princess along with Annie. However, we'd have to set up a caravan across country and Panda would need to get used to snow. Everything will be okay. Love ya!
Theresa who works with me on Saturdays will be staying at our house...she goes to school full time and works one or 2 days a week. She will spoil the Panda bear and keep her company....btw....if I seem to be on the site...its probably Theresa...I told her to log on to keep me posted...I will be making regular phone calls to keep up to date!

And Ron, I never thought about it...maybe Pandas cheeks are unevenly kissed...must reasess tonight..... 8O
Darcy! Poor girl...I think it's natural to think of things like that. I flew yesterday and you can't but help of what if...Panda will be very well taken care of no matter what...

Guess what...I'm in San Diego today!!
Woohooo Steph!! Vacation?? Enjoying time at home?
get thee to the phx airport for a layover......
Yep, on vacation!
Sorry, Darce, but I flew over Phoenix...had my layover in Dallas. I'm going golfing with my dad and brother in an hour--very excited!
Sorry to hijack the thread...
No problem, just make sure the next time you fly out...you must have a layover in phx for 2 hours!!
It's not weird Darcy, I just had this discussion with Jil and Chris!

I'm sure that if something were to happen they'd have to establish a committee to figure out who would get Panda.
Let her know that the boys said she'd have a place here in PA if she needed it!
Two in Pa actually. I have Zeke and Tucker, plus 2 sons who
would all love your dear Panda. We could use some more female
energy in this house! We're here too, just in case..

I think it is wonderful, that even though it is a hard thing to think of,
that you have plans in place for 'what if' situations. I have also recently
made plans for my kids and dogs if anything should happen to us.
You never lose anything by planning ahead! Except in your case maybe
some sleep! Rest easy, your covered Darcy

Shellie
Thanks you guys...I can rest a little easier! Its good to have such a good group of friends!!!! Now, can anyone tell me how not to claw the armrests during take off and landings????? 8O
Xanax....works for me :D
Darce-

Have a great time in HI- I'm sure it'll be fabulous! That's a very valid concern about where to re-home Miss Panda, Thanks for the reminder. I'm talking to my sister about it tonight!

Enjoy your vacation, and try to relax! Flying can be fun :) (I love flying)

Same here!
Darcy, I'm sorry I didn't see this one earlier. Nothing will happen to you! You'll have a great vacation and we'll all be insanely jealous. However... if anything were to happen to you I would be happy to take Panda. And I'll even put grass in my backyard under the big new trees so she doesn't scratch her paws up on the rocks. I don't think I can adore her as much as you do because you're the best mom ever, but I will spoil her in my own way and follow all the rules on the list, including putting a big ol' picture of you out where she can see you all the time :D
Have a great time, Darcy. I understand your concerns. I have completely planned out where my animals would go if something should happen to Ian and I.

It all came about when my mom told me this dreadfully sad story. Years ago our two Jack Russells (now Parson Russell) had an Oops (REALLY long story - just know that for a couple days after neutering there are still some swimming around there  ) and we placed all the puppies in good homes. Within the past year my mom got a call from a friend who let her know that one of our Jack Russell puppies' owners just passed. The dog was given to the grandparents to figure out where to place her. My mom was contacted and asked to look for a home for this 6 year old healthy girl. Within 2 days a home was found and my mom called the grandparents up to tell them the good news. Unfortunately, this couple brought the dog to the pound and had her put down because she was "old". I couldn't believe it. I was devastated from the news and even now find it hard to believe that an animal rescue place would do that to such a young and healthy dog.

Soo - we have specific people planned for our babies - you can't be too careful.
I'd willingly take Panda too. All my boys are girl friendly so no worries regarding Old Blue. See you have lots of options Darcy!

Just relax have fun and leave your worries behind. I hope you have a wonderful vacation!

Should anything ever happen to me...you guys make sure Merlin and Panda find good homes too! My sister could handle Blue but not three as she has a housefull of critters herself.
