Beauty is in the eye of the mom who gives you an ugly cut...

ok, you asked for it - here are some shots of Dexter's hair "ordeal" - please keep in mind I didn't have a clue as to what I was doing.

Here he is "before" - I had already trimmed his face before I remembered to take the picture

I think he looks adorable. :hearts:

Of course I am of the opinion that when it comes to sheepies there is no such thing as a bad haircut...they are so cute that even a first time home haircut can't make them look bad.
:D
Amanda
You did a great job! What did you use? I am taking notes....
You did a great job from what I can see! :D
He's not as slick as Dancer, but I think it's fine. Exactly how mine come out...probably better. And yes, we love them anyway they are shaved.
I have to admit that I tried to do Cinde. She looked just ok for a few weeks but when it started to grow out

We really don't have the money to have her done but I found it somewhere. I will post pics later. She looks so much better now. So from your pics Amanda you did GREAT!!! Don't know what I did wrong but
Did you do all that with just scissors?! Great job! :)
"A dog by any other haircut would still look as sweet." (paraphrasing, of course!) Dexter looks wonderful!! You did a great first-time job!
...would still smell as sweet!
You did a great job! He looks so happy :D
He looks great.. really huggable and happy with his haircut.
yup - it was all done with scissors......... but I can guarantee you that my Oster Golden A5's are on order!!!!!
Hey dont knock yourself, Ive done the same to charlie !! (Oh and my husband who makes me cut his hair too.. I am not a hairdresser, I didnt even work in one as a saturday girl.. I am just armed with nail scissors and logic)

I previously always did charlie with scissors, and while it was a drawn out affair resulting in a rather rough look, he always appreciated the less fur after..

Today my oster a5s arrived.. and the half a$$ job I had managed to do over the weekend of his hed/neck/shoulders/bit of chest has now been turned into a all over back, 2 hind legs, bum, tail.. effect, and wow was that so much quicker.. and hes now fast asleep.. I mean fast asleep not napping, I mean dead to the world... hes happy

I got the 7f blades, and Im sure I picked the right ones, its exactly what I wanted.

I will finish him off tomorrow. he didnt like the noise much to start with, and was a bit scared, but, after wiping them around him without them turned on so they smelt of him he was a lot happier, turned them on and just held them in my hand and ran my hand around he was happy then, and we were set :)

(Charlie has a major case of ADD and cant stand to be doing anything too long, so, we have to take lots of breaks but I did all that in 2 goes, getting him to turn and lie on the other side - as he likes to lie for as much as he can - usually is the hardest part)
Wonderful job-- he really is handsome in his new
spring haircut!

Excellent first hairstyling session!

We'd love to see after photos. I am sure the clippers were much easier on your hands too. Boy would my hands hurt if I scissor cut my dogs.
It would also probably take me days to get it done.
I LOVE my clippers.

If I clip Louie it does take days. That's why I have pictures where he has long hair in some places and short hair in others....THANK GOODNESS for a wonderful groomer (who comes to me!!) Otherwise Louie would have a perpetual bad haircut!! 8O

Personally, I think Dexter looks great!!
You did a great job and with scissors too!

Many a time my dogs had that "chenille bedspread" look :D I've started the Spring haircuts here too... one down, three to go. They are always soooo happy and proud after a haircut (we hide all the mirrors so they're none the wiser  ).

I think he looks great! Just look at that smile! But, hey, I use scissors too! Tried the clippers once and returned them............
Heres what I did to charlie :)

You did a good job. Well Done :D

Kim & Maizie :D
This post inspired me to clip Ava myself.....bad bad bad idea - I have now been inspired to have a groomer do it next time. She is much cooler though. I suppose having the cone on her head (waiting for her eyes to heal up) does not help the image either.

ROFL

Don't warry! It'll grow out!
I think he looks great.
