Ouch!

Last night when my husband went to pat MO's shoulder, she sqeeked in pain. When we looked, she had a stab wound that went all the way down to bone 8O That was gross!

She loves to run and apparently got too close to a staub in the shrubs and impailed herself. No blood, just a deep hole. I couldn't tell skin from yucky stuff, so just trimmed as best I could, covered with gauze and a bandana until we could get her to the vet's today. It was all just yucky stuff that the vet shaved it off as well as the surrounding hair with a #40 blade (I need to get one of those) and that was it. No yellow stuff, just washed around the wound as it had closed a bit over night. Now we just need to keep it from scabbing until it heals from inside out. YUCK! . Oh yes, antiobiotics for a while.

If that had been us, we would have spent the night in emergency care, spent $$$$ and probably received the same care.....LOL.

poor mo :(
Give Mo a kiss and hug from me and Panda!
Goodness!! Give MO an extra belly rub from me.
Oh my!! That sounds terribly painful!! Poor girl. Glad she's doing okay. Lots of TLC will help her heal faster. :hearts:
She is being brave because her Daddy has been ministering to her. He's gone for a week, so we will see how I do. I'm sure the cheese covered pill will help. She now limps off that shoulder, don't know if it is related. Speaking of which, it is time to wash the wound to keep it open for draining and administering that pill..............
Poor girl. :( I hope it heals fast.
Poor baby. How awful.

Sure wish Dixie would swallow food. No matter what I put on her pill she finds it and spits it out...sometimes in another room 8O
