I have spoken to the person who has these two dogs in her rescue.
There are two neutered males about two years old. One dog has a problem with counter surfing and being possessive over the food he steals. He also needs basic obedience training. The other dog has some separation anxiety issues. He is on meds now which have helped him in this area and will hopefully continue to do so.
They are looking for dog savvy owners because as she said "these are not dogs to be placed in just any home". I hope these boys find there perfect fit and furever home soon.
The southern New York rescue also has 5 dogs needing homes. They were getting stretched pretty thin on help. If I see her this weekend I'll get more info.
Anybody in the northeast interested at this point?
RE: the southern New York dogs. I'm in central Pennsylvania and am interested in doing some OES fostering. I'm not in a position to adopt another forever dog right now, but I want to get an OES inthe future, and fostering seems like a good way to get to know the breed. I have fostered before for all-breed rescue. If the New York folks are looking for fosterers, I'd appreciate contact info.
One of the boys "Jackson" went to his new home yesterday. Keep your fingers crossed that it all works out. His new Mom is a friend of mine & OES experienced. Sue
That is good news Sue. :clappurple: Which one is Jackson? Does he have the counter surfing issues or separation anxiety issues? When I was speaking to the rescue about them it sounded as if both boys have had a rough start in life. I was hoping that I would have been able to adopt one but I did not think my house, with my dogs, would have been the right home for these guys. I sincerely hope that Jackson does well and has finally found his new and final family and home.
Jackson is the separation anxiety boy. this will be his third home in his 2 years on earth. I hope he has found his forever one this time.
The other boy is Charlie (aka counter surfer). I am keeping fingers crossed that his home is on the horizon soon too. sue
