All in a days work-First visit to the vet!

So, I took Ben to the Vet yesterday…...……it’s a new one for us……well he is apparently a new one for them too. He is the first and only OES at their clinic………so, as you can imagine everyone was ooooooooohing and aaaaaawwwwwing… :) …anywho, I left my boys with the hubby and attempted to take Ben by myself………..all the while I am thinking............. “how are you going to do this? Ben has really limited training (sit, hug…….’bout it), hasn’t been socialized with anyone outside of our “pack” (me, kids, hubby, grandma, and our other 4 leggers) other than puppy playtime, when we first got him……I have to fill out new patient forms, hold him, keep him from eating all of the other animals waiting to be seen………..what are you thinking going at this alone?”… 8O …..well, we walked in , dogs, cats, turtle, everywhere……Ben walked right beside me to the counter and flopped those big ol’ paw-paws up on the counter to greet the receptionist…… …oh’ Ben…….we got our forms went to the only open seat and sat……….Ben sat right next to me, without me telling him to, and just watched all the other animals, like “what are you in for?”……..I was able to fillout everything without any trouble….walked back to the desk to turn it in………..Ben lays at my feet while I produce all forms of ID and such……..we wait our turns and back we go………….

He weighs 70lbs…….he is in perfect health so far (we are waiting on blood work……..his hips look great, he let the Tech and Vet do everything and anything without a care………………

The Vet said, “I cannot believe that you have two children, work full time, keep up with a husband and more animals, and Ben looks like this!”……to which I am thinking….. “like what?………I know that he decided to roll and dig in the dirt this morning, but what? Am I really that bad of a mom?”………..he continues…..”He is incredible, no mats, perfect ears, happy, well socialized (WELL SOCIALIZED????), beautiful temperament and disposition……..well done!”…………..(REALLY, He said I did/do good! Wow! Really it is just Ben…all Ben! His is just naturally PERFECT  )

I know I try my very best, I love him so much and do not want to give him the short hand of the stick………..it isn’t his fault we live in constant “drama”………..but, anyhow, it is good to hear and see that others can see that I try!

I AM SO PROUD OF BENJAMIN…………….for being so well behaved for me and for everyone else involved in this experience………….

……………so, I decided to press my luck and take him to PetSmart afterwards, for a new toy and cookies………..again, he did awesome!!!! He even decided to lay down in the check out lane (while the woman in front of us was holding up the flow with her little yippy dog  )! Yeah BEN! Yeah!!!!!

Ok, I am done………….
