Annie's Thoughts on the New Kid

Woof woof! Annie Bananie here... I can't believe my Mom and Dad got suckered into a puppy. For Pete's sake, what are they thinking??? I've had 3 litters of pups and know what they're all about. This little guy, Fozzie, seems like a good kid so far. He's been listening to me and hasn't caused me to much trouble. However, a lady needs a break every once in a while, I can't always be there to help the parental unit out.

Last night this guy cried a few times after we went to sleep. I needed my beauty sleep and moved to the other side of the room and laid down in a huff. They'll just need to deal with him on their own at that hour of the morning (2 AM).

This morning Mom was trying to leave for work. The kid was already biting at everything in sight and Dad was annoyed. I just kept looking on to make sure he wasn't coming for me. It's kind of funny watching Mommy & Daddy jump through the house like that. Maybe I'll help them next time

Dear Annie,

You have my sympathy. It's been almost a year since my Mom brought the little squirt Ty home. I won't say I absolutely adore him but he does kinda grow on you after awhile. There ARE advantages to being the older sibling. For example, it had been a long dry spell around here....... I hadn't had any new towys in quite some time and new chew bones weren't appearing very often. But when Mom brought the new squirt home she felt guilty buying new stuff for him without getting a new toy for me too so I've made out like a bandit

Plus I get all the "dribbles", the little guy is kinda messy and if I play my cards right I can get all kinds of good snacks that I don't mornally get to eat. Puppies get to eat more than us olders dogs so if you pay attention and play your cards right you'll be getting lots more to eat (watch your waist line though, I put on a few pounds in those first months  ).

Don't EVER worry about not getting enough attention or having to share the hugs from the humans, I just give Mom the "sad puppy face" and she gives me LOTS of extra hugs and kisses cause she feels soooooo bad about giving kisses to the little squirt.

There are some down sides for sure, getting your ears constantly nipped and pulled gets old after awhile and just exactly HOW MANY TIMES DO THEY HAVE TO SNIFF YOUR BUTT before they remember what it smells like?????? But at the end of the dy it's kinda fun to have another fur ball to curl up with, and yessssss he'll calm down enough to curl up with ONE OF THESE DAYS

Annie--you're being very mature and openminded about this whole new puppy thing. Good for you. I've heard things get better and settle down after a while, but I don't know, I've never had a new puppy. Maybe you can talk my mom and dad into getting a new one...unless they stay silly ALL the time.
Barney
LOL!
By the way---I never knew Annie middle name was Bananie!
Dear Annie...I dont know what youre going through, but you have my sympathy...look on the brighter side....when he stops being such a baby, you'll have someone to play with and snuggle with....and you can always BLAME it on your little brother......

xoxo Panda
Dear Annie,

I heard my mom and dad talking about getting a puppy, I hope it's a girl cause I only have brothers and they are sooo annoying  I'd like to be a big sister and since I'm seven I already know how to push mom and dad's buttons to get my way :) I could be a big help and then we'd have 2 girls and 2 boys, my brothers are Luke and Rosco and they are older than me. My dad calls me his baby girl, I wonder what he would call my little sister? In case we get a boy I'll watch for your posts to get advice, good luck!

Your friend, Daisy

PS- sometimes our parents get weird, like around puppies  so who knows what they are thinking
Cute...
Thanks Annie you write a good report on how mom and dad are doing with your new little brother. 8)
Annie,
Eventually with time your little friend Fozzie will calm down.... Until then, you'll need to tolerate it. Don't worry though... It will go quickly.
