Adult Female in West Virginia

This girl is at Roane County Animal Shelter. She is horribly matted and had a litter of pups recently. Also needs a chicken-free home???

That poor dog!!!
I bet with a good clipping and shampoo she'd turn out awesome!!! She needs a spa day.
Poor baby. :(
Wow...it's been a while since I'm posted....I live close to Roane Co. and have emailed the shelter about Olivia....I wonder if Ridley would like a big sister...haha

Rachel
good luck Rachel!! save that baby
Go Rachel :go:
Go Rachel :go:

That girl looks like an awesome dog really down on her luck. I really hope she finds a loving, happy home (with Rachel).
Thanks everybody.....I can't wait to hear from the shelter about Olivia.... :D Ridley seems excited too!
Well it feels like I'm talked to everyone involved in sheepie rescue about Olivia! The shelter said someone from OES rescue was picking Olivia up on Friday. I assumed it was Betsey, because she seems to handle a lot of rescues in the WV area. Betsey emailed right back and said Ingrid Thompson in TN was handling the rescue....Ingrid emailed me and said a gentleman from KY may pick up Olivia....but she was thrilled a local person might be interested because she hates the thought of shuffling Olivia all over the country. How ever it turns out, it's great to see how so many people care about this girl....I'll keep you posted.

P.S. Ingrid said she believes Olivia still has her tail..... :D
Well I talked to Ingrid again tonight, Olivia has a home waiting for her in Kentucky. I'm a litte bummed, but happy she found a home.
Sorry Rachel and Ridley, but happy for the new home!

Oh, that's too bad Rachel, but Olivia is giving someone a happy home.
Olivia still needs a home...

I noticed Olivia was no longer listed as rescued early this morning so I contacted the shelter. I spoke with Sandy the shelter manager and was told there was a tragedy in the family that was scheduled to pick her up. So while she awaits rescue I've asked if I could have her groomed and Sandy has agreed. The sweet girl can at least get rid of all that matted and ouchie fur.

My Jim spoke with Jim S this morning about her... he had previously offered assistance and was told she was all set. If Olivia isn't adopted/rescued by Wednesday he said they would contact him. That's all I have for now.
Thanks, 6Girls.

I'm actually driving up there to get her tomorrow. The grooming is VERY MUCH appreciated!! :)
Oh Tammy! Thanks so much for helping this sheepie-girl. :clappurple:

I sent the check out today... I tried to pay by credit card but they just weren't set up for it. I hope she's all nice and clean when you get her so she can begin her new journey in her life.

Please drop me a note when you get back so I know you've arrived safely! And thanks again for your kindness.

Tammy -- are you adopting her?
After all the confusion of who was going to get Olivia, it was going to work out that I was going to get to adopt her....until Saturday night...around midnight, my 19 year old cousin Dustin, was driving home from some friends house and had a car accident. He wasn't wearing his seatbelt and because of a good samaritian who wasn't far behind the accident. My cousin was flown to one of the best trauma centers here in West Virginia. He's still in a coma and has a broken neck, a fractured skull, his face was crushed and so was his chest. The Catscans have revealed no brain activity, but the doctor says it's too soon to tell how much brain damage he has....we are all praying right now.....I felt so bad and guilty about not being able to adopt Olivia...but with everything going on, I wouldn't be able to give her all my love and attention that she really needs.
Oh Rachel... I didn't know it was you. I am so very sorry. It sounds like Olivia will be in great hands tomorrow so please don't feel guilty. I think you made the best choice even though it must have been a difficult one. Thoughts and prayers are with your cousin, you and your family during this difficult time.
Oh that is truly horrific news. I am so sorry. My sincere sympathy for you and your family. That's really dreadful.
I am so sorry to hear that...my prayers and thoughts are with you.
My thoughts are with you and all of Dustin's family during this terrible and difficult time.
Prayers for you all I am sorry to hear the news
I'm so sorry, Rachel. Will keep Dustin and all your family in my prayers.

No...when Rachel let us know that she wouldn't be able to adopt her, I made arrangements to pick her up and foster her. She'll be in the care of OESRNSE. But, I get to have her for awhile. :)

Rachel -I do hope your cousin recovers fully and quickly. I know it's a very trying time for you & your family.
Rachel, sorry to hear about your cousin.
Rachel,

It just broke my heart reading about your cousins tragedy. I'm praying he recovers and hugs to you and your family. You'll be in my thoughts.
