Sleeping Puppy

Okay, I'm naive. I forgot what it's like to have a puppy. Are they supposed to sleep A LOT? Fozzie has spurts of energy and then passes out for a long time. He's asleep now. Should I pester him so that he can sleep through the night?

I dunno.. . . but what does Annie think??? I'm dying to hear stories!!
It's been awhile for me too, but I seem to remember that they slept alot when I first got them. Followed quickly by an energy spurt lasting months - during which I almost wished for the sleeping puppy to come back.
It's been so long since I had a puppy.
I do remember Peanut sleeping a lot when I first got him. Running and Sleeping :D
I don't know what to tell you about waking him up. That's up to you.
Peanut had a crate but slept in my bedroom from day one. I couldn't handle the crying and yapping. He slept through the night after the first night...on our bed.
At that age they do 2 things-- sleep and pee. Don't worry, he's fine!
When they're sleeping they're growing. :P
Fergie did sleep alot at first. So no need to worry. She would play and then sleep ,play and sleep ect.
Hi Stacy :D
Just want to squeeze him...Fozzie's so darn cute!
We called them "power naps" 8O
Awwwww...just watch him sleep & get ready for when he wakes up!
Diane...heard the saying "never wake a sleeping baby..same goes for a pupper"
Puppies at that age should sleep 18 to 20 hours a day. Believe it or not. Let him sleeps as much as he needs.
Yes, they do sleep A LOT!! Be glad!! :D
Yep- let sleeping puppies lie! Pip sleeps a ton still- which is great. It helps SO MUCH with potty training- when he gets up, he goes out for potties... Not to mention that if he was up all the time, I'd probably go nuts trying to keep him occupied  (Just wait a few days, you'll see  )
ah... I miss the sleepy days.... :D
oh I just looked at the pictures... oh my god, I want another puppy :!: :!: :!:
Marley sleeps a lot and when he sleeps he goes into a really deep sleep.
So much so you can pick him up and carry him and put him back down again without him knowing it.

Isn't that the truth!!!!!
Bear is 6 months old and after a day at doggy day care, he was sleeping so hard, we couldn't get him up to go outside before bed. James had to pick up all 75 pounds of him and set him in the grass!
LMAO That must have been quite the site
Aw, Bear has such a nice daddy :)
