I just posted Baxter on Petfinder. He is currently in Tampa, FL and needs a forever home without children....

Baxter is now at my house in Ocala, FL in foster care. He is very handsome and quiet so far and really enjoying playing with my brown dog, Charlie Brown. Now is nap time -- they are all played out!
Applications for Baxter are being accepted.

Good news for all -- Baxter has been adopted -- he will have an OES brother named Cosmo and live in Orlando -- his parents are forum.oes.org members!

Actually I don't think I have actually placed any at all because of the forum. (some applicants from the forum forthe dogs were not the right match for the dogs they applied for or they changed their mind or geography got in the way)
However, I did find Emily (Mop Lover) and Ian to foster Mopsy and Prissy and also Lisa (Hannah is her screen name) to foster Belle in SC because of the Forum...
Also, I was able to get Jil ( Butterscotch) to know about her "little" baby Bear the Komondor puppy... I wish he could come to FL!
And Linda, another forum member in FL fostered Judson (now Jethro) and update you all on him and let you know how great it to have a senior dog...
I am getting more organized (however I curently have 6 dogs to place in FL right now) I have not been able to get home checks done as soon as the applications come in so that when a dog comes and has been evaluated it can then be placed iright away in the approved home on the waiting list... so for those of you that applied to do home checks or as a foster -- please keep on volunteering I really need the help!

I just looked at their application -- It doesn't say which dog they were interested in but it was dated March 9, 2006 -- that was way before Baxter came into the rescue picture.
Sunday night I emailed over 50 people that I had in my file of people wanting dogs that had applied for dogs to see if they were still interested in adopting an OES -- some aplications were from as far back as 2003! I suggested they look at Petfinder to see all the dogs available and to contact me if they were interested in any of them or if they would like to be taken off the waiting list. I only received a few responses -- some had gotten a dog and wanted to be taken off the list and a few others thanked me and said they would check out Petfinder and get back to me if there was a dog that interested them (none did) Except for Baxter's new mom!

 We have Baxter now all settle in Orlando and having lots of fun with Cosmo I have lots of pictures but cannot get into the forum to post picture of the two boys they are having a blass  |
