| Approx 6 mths. They come into heat twice a year. To be an ethical breeder, you would want to have her health tested and ex-rayed before you let her mate. Also for the health of the dog, only breed her once a year. Whelping out a litter of puppies and then nursing, it is too soon after they leave to breed her again, about 1 mth of recovery. The dog should be at 2 years old before she breeds, fully mature physically and mentally to be a mother. Plus to clear her of hip displasia.
