Alligator spring!

I just wanted to let everyone know that as of today I officially swam with an alligator! Not right next to one, but I swam within 15 feet of an alligator almost 6 feet long!!

My husband went camping with his youth group this weekend and I went down this morning to help drive them home. The kids decided to go swimming in this 72 degree spring, and I agreed to go with them before leaving. WELL, after swimming for about an hour, we were informed by a nice lady that she had been filming an alligator while we were swimming. We all crowded around her and watched the video - it was pretty amazing. Well over five feet!!

Apparently it was a timid alligator and went to hide behind a deck each time someone swam by. But it was BIG! 8O

Did you say: "Thanks, Lady!" ??!??
8O And that is why I don't swim in lakes in Florida. (I don't swim in lakes at all-but that is a different story).
Cool! Wouldn't catch me doing that in a million years, but still, cool! LOL
"Nice lady"? Was she hoping you'd get eaten so she'd have a video to sell? Glad to hear it turned out OK. Will you be doing any more lake swimming?
Next time I'm in Florida I'll stick with swimming with the dolphins!!!!!!!!!
Wow, you would not want to swim up north here, we have salt water crocodiles and they eat people who go in the water where they are.

Did you ask the lady for a copy of the video, that would be one to keep
Emily,

Next time --try swimming in my pool -- it's alligator free!

Marie
