My dogs love hearts raw hides. But after all the bad stuff I've heard about them, I've stopped giving them. And, I've never given my dogs greenies, because of everything I've read and all the (gross) pictures darlin' Ron has posted.

Now...my dogs really enjoy pigs ears. I know they are high in sodium, but other than that:

Good? Laughing Bad? Crying or Very sad

Pros? Laughing Cons? Crying or Very sad

What's the verdict on pig ears?
Con...they smell Shocked
They stain carpet too. I give mine those Better Than Pig Ears chews and they like those a lot.
I've never even bought any....I can't get past what they are Embarassed

ahh then i bet you never feed bully sticks either Wink

my dogs get everything - rawhide, greenies, bones (depending what bone, had problems with some)... pig ears don't stain the carpet or smell. Now, cow hooves... WHEW!

EEEWWWWWW Shocked Laughing
Laughing HA HA HA Laughing

I've never seen bully sticks being sold anywhere, I'm not sure if I'd be able to touch one, let alone buy one and give it to my dogs to play with!
Lol. It doesn't look like you'd think it would. Twisted Evil
I've seen them at my local petsmart...
petsmart, petpeople, pet supplies plus... i think complete petmart may have them too!

bwahah they're on sale right now, all the dogs are oh so happily munching away....
Most dogs love pigs ears.... my parents dog Blackie makes short work of them so there isn't any mess really.
I don't give them to my dogs because of the smell, the colored drool on their beards, and the fact that they hide chew things for later, which is gross.... all the germs... yuck.
they are very high in fat and sodium and are also prone to getting lodged in the throat when they are almost chewed up.
Maggie has some nerve damage on the left side of her face and nearly choked on a pig ear. No rawhide or natural pig ears in our house since then.

She now eats the "Better Than Pig Ears", which are safer than the real thing. Well, so far, anyway. We thought that about Greenies, too. Blinking Cow
dogs with allergies to wheat cannot eat the "better than" line. I think it has a couple other allergens owners with sensitive dogs might want to look into before feeding (just like with anything else).
