How many of you have cats?

Just curious. I forgot who has one. How many?

I just have Chloe (often called Chlobe-bee ...because her mom is weird). She's 3.

We have 2 cats, our big boy Winston, he will be 7 in August, and Church, who will be 2 in August.
Two, both rescued from the spca.

Jake...who is now 9 years old this summer. My hubby bought him for me when we were dating. I had a hard time saying goodbye to life without a cat, living in a new city, in an apt...and he decided to take me to the spca. We had been dating for 3 mths...I just thought he was being nice, afterall he lived in a house that allowed pets.

But apparantly this was a HUGE thing to those that really knew him...everyone else knew how much he must love me to get a cat for me. He HATED cats, but not as much as dogs. We got engaged soon after, and just celebrated 8 years of marriage.

Amy...our female, that is now 7 yrs old, she is Jake's companion, but she steals our hearts everyday. She is still so much a kitten, loved to play fetch, and has the softest fur you'd ever find on a cat...like an angora rabbit.

We adopted them both as 8 week old kittens.
They are so much fun, and life is never dull with these two.
I have 3. Missy (Mistletoe) who was a christmas present 9 years ago. When I first got Louie she refused to come near me. Now though she has switched tactics and seeks me out and cries for me. She rules the house though. Louie cowers to her. It's funny. :D

Evie(Evilyn Belle) is 4. She is all white. She is a huge pain in the butt. But she seeks attention so little that when she does you can't help but stop what you're doing to pet her.

Tobey(October) is 3. He is all black. He is such a sissy boy. And he loves attention. He and Evie are like brother and sister (even though there is no relation) they fight and play together as such. It's quite funny to see them figting though because they are black and white so it's yin and yang.

(All of them were supposed to stay with my mom when I moved out. But you know those life circumstances they are now with me.)
We currently have 3:

Iris 10

Crash 1
I have Ainsley & Einstein who are littermates and will be three in July. Wow...can't believe they're already that old! Time flies.

I scooped up the whole litter when I found them. Their mom was a very sweet, but mostly feral cat, who hung around my house & my neighbors. They were about 6 weeks old and she was weaning them. They were rather friendly in spite of not being used to people. So, I brought them all inside with me, started them on soft food and litter trained them. I felt really guilty stealing her babies and let them back outside to "visit" a couple of times. She would never come close enough for me to pet her or I would've had her fixed.

Anyway, I didn't want the litter to end up being feral and reproducing, so I kept them in the house with me. There were four in the litter. Really cute babies. A solid grey long haired male, a grey & white short haired female, a solid black long haired female, and a black & white short haired male. I loved that they were equal opposites. So cool!

I kept the black female (Ainsley) and the b&w male (Einstein). My SIL took the two greys. They've all been fixed (of course) and are happy spoiled babies. I cannot imagine not having them around. Their antics keep me entertained and they're great snugglers when it's time to sleep. :D
we have 1 called coco and she will be 9 in july she is the sweetest girl ever she sits and looks at you with her tongue sticking out.
We have 1, her name is Punkin (short for Pumpkin Pie).
She is a calio with a lot of orange and white feet. We got her on Thanksgiving weekend eight years ago, hence the name.
After having Mojo for almost a year now, they have yet to make friends. He thinks she is a toy and she wants nothing to do with him except sit up high somewhere and tease him!
We have 2 cats. Cam and I had just moved to Virginia and the month after I moved here one of his friends had a cat who was having kittens. We said we wanted one. Well, the kittens had a rough time of it (family dog killed a few) so they decided to give him to us a little early, at 7 weeks. They called us at 9pm saying he was on his way! Luckily we lived across the from grocery store and ran in just as it was closing and bought a litter box and some food!
So, Lenny is 2 1/2...you have to earn his love...
Image

Lenny was a crazy kitten and he would chew everything in our apartment, especially the blinds. Of course, living in an apartment, we wanted as little damage as possible...we thought that a friend for him might help. One weekend there was a big SPCA fair in town so we went, just for fun. We walked in and there was Kirby. She was TINY. I picked her up and couldn't even feel her in my arms, she weighed so little. We just went to look, but you know how that turns out. All the little kids were so envious! We just walked up and filled out the necessary paperwork and she was ours! All thekids were still begging their parents. ha ha. being grownup was fun!

Here's Kirby...she's not very photogenic...she's much cuter in person. She is a little princess who sleeps on me every night and paws at the quilt to let her in to snuggle against me 8) She has the SOFTEST fur in the world and the biggest tail ever. She turned 2 at Christmas...

I only have one cat now. Mork will be 4 this summer and after his sister Mindy was killed last summer he has refused to have anything to do with another cat/ kitten although I did try. I think that's because a couple of years ago I moved into my mother's house with my 3 cats and her 2 cats and although they didn't fight, they never seemed to really like each other - just stayed away from each other as much as possible.
We have two. Socks, who will be 1 in July and Mara who will be 1 next month.

Socks is black with white feet (hence the name), a white belly, and a white stripe above his lip. He was a baby that I saved, because his mother wasn't taking care of him at birth. We adopted his mom from the pound, and we thought she was spayed. She went 1.5 years without a heat cycle, and then all of a sudden, we had kittens! lol It was a huge surprise. We spayed her, because she wasn't taking care of her kittens. Socks was the only one who survived (with a TON of work). He is the sweetest cat ever. :)

We just got Mara about a month ago. She is a tortise-shell. Jason has some friends on the base who are getting PCSed in a couple of weeks. They had 3 pets, and the base they are going to only allows two in base housing. Since Mara was the newest addition for them, and they've had their others for years, she was the one to go. Jason told them we'd take her. It was an adjustment for about a week and a half or so, but she's one of the family now. She is the vocal one and definitely will not let you get away with not giving her attention when she wants it (or won't let you pet her when she's not in the mood for it, lol).

I love my kitties, but dogs are just more lovable because they want to please you. :)
I have one, Miles. He's a black persian and just turned 15. He is a gentle, easy-going, cozy guy who has been surviving with CRF (kidney failure) for about 18 months. His sister died last year of cancer and that loss is what lead me to get Chumley (followed shortly by Maggie). I love having Miles in my lap or sleeping near my head.

Here is Miles:

We have 2. Khobi (a bulimic, bad breathed) 12 year old siamese king, and Leo, a grey long haired domestic cat, who insists he's in the witness protection plan. He claims his new name is Leo Lapinski, but won't tell us his old name.

Don't ask  !
So, I have two fierce felines...... 8O ......yeah right! :D

Stormie (aka Garfield for her personality), is going to be 10yrs. rescued her from her own mom! Mom didn't want to feed the litter, so I have had her since she was 4 weeks old. She only likes me, my mom & hubby. She is a "morning kitty" (like a morning person) rarely comes out of my bedroom! Lazy, unsocial girl!

Samson (aka Sam) 4.5yrs., got him from the humane society....I went in to donate (as usual) dog food/cat food, I turned my back from my Hubby to fill out donation papers and when I turned to my Hubby there he was holding the most beautiful kitten........hubby picked him (which is funny to me, 'cuz the first thing I found out about Quinton was he HATES cats!) and he was mine until we had our first son.................

.......................When I had Micah, Sam would walk on the outer perimiters of everyroom and glare at me like, "Mom, what did you bring home?" he was very upset, he would walk by and hiss, he marked in the house.. ...for the first week. After he got over it, he found out Micah is a pretty cool kid........almost four years later the two of them are best buds! Sam follows Micah everywhere and lays by him all the time and sleeps with him at night! So cute! :)

No more hissing, no more peeing! Just Happy times :D Now if we could get "Garfield" to lighten up..........
Truman has one kitty brother: Riley. Riley is white with an orange spot on his head and an orange tail. We tease him that he stole his tail from another cat 'cause it doesn't match the rest of him! He is small but don't tell him that. He thinks he is king of all he surveys! He sleeps on the bed with us, usually wrapped around my head. He is a terrible pillow hog and he snores. He has a bad habit of sticking his nose in my ear while I'm TRYING to sleep  !! The instant I sit down he is on my lap 24/7! He had to have one of his "fangs" removed due to a tooth problem so sometimes we call him Bucky after the comic strip cat. He's really good natured and puts up with Truman herding him around the house and stealing his toys. However, once in a while he will walk up to Truman and whap him upside the head for no apparent reason! It cracks us up because Truman looks at him like "Hey! What did I do... I was just sitting here minding my own business!"
P.S. Click on my camera and you can see some pix of Smiley Riley!
These cats are nuts! Khobi, the siamese often "cleans" my eyebrows while I'm sleeping. He drives me nuts!
Zeee iss for ze lovelee Chloee for her birthday. Kiiss Kiiiss..(from Paris)

I have four cats, Mama Kat (formally known as Asia) renamed when even though she was spayed she became surrogate mom to two 2 hr old kittens I was given to foster by the humane society.
Daisy - Blue's cat
Paris- Panda's cat
Lil Girl (one of the 2 hr old kittens whom I adopted) Merlin's nemesis or could be the other way around. :D

Marianne
What beautiful pics of everyones cats. I want another one. A BIG one. :)
I agree everyone's cats and the personalities described are just great!

Marianne

Lets hope Verve Up post some of her sheepies and kittens - those photos are adorable too.
Heeheehee....I'm laughing at what they do to us while we sleep.

Both of mine are snugglers and can usually be found cradled in my arms or next to my head on the pillow.

Last night Ainsley was purring so loudly in my ear I woke up from a dream that we were having an earthquake.

aweeee. i told mr. j that i wanted anothr cat (maine coon) and he said, "NO. we're getting another OES."

me: "no.. cat and small dog."
him: OES! nothing else
me: then looks like you can live somewhere else.
him. fine, i'll go to iraq.

Marianne, those are sweet pictures!! I didn't see them when I posted last. I think it's because we posted around the same time. :D
Marrianne, I'd swear I was looking at our Amy in the the picture of the cat and dog with the kiss and hearts.

Amy is just like that, all grey...and petite. She too is a bed hog, and likes to clean my hands...I dont let her lick anywhere else, but she is kinda obsessive so I have to let her go through her routine just to get to sleep.

Jake is the kissy guy, he is extremely affectionate. He must have his milk every morning, and eats whatever.

Amy is strictly a cat food cat, and she is quick to let us know she is out of food..the few times you hear her meow...then she leads you to their room...which is a cat door in the storage room under the stairs.
We have 2 cats. Our hymalaian I got for Sam last yr when her bunny died a week before her b-day his name is Nike hes an orange point w/ crystal blue eyes he is beautiful. Then we rescued Piggy he is an orange Persian w/ stubby legs  ,big forehead  ,and stubby tail!!!LOL!!He is so sweet tho,him and Landon(my brussels griffon)I think our lovers. When Landon goes into his kennel Piggy lays on top of it w/ his feet hanging over his door, and at night these two play like 2little school mates!!LOL!!Piggy will come into bed at night and push his nose up too mine, and I feel his rough tounge licking my face 8O ,being in a deep sleep I wake up thinking he is trying too kill me!!LMAO!!Funny thing is I was never a cat person but Piggy has turned that around for me.
I've got two felines in the house, Calvin Clyde dba Calvie Kitty & Otis James dba Oatie Boat. Calvie likes to scream at the top of his lungs for no apparent reason, sometimes in my ear at two in the morning. Otis likes to play with the dog toys when no one is looking!

Here is the miracle picture of Calvin & Bentley taken Sunday night

This is Otis outside on a warm summer day

I have two cats, both rescued within a month of each other at humane societies. They are both almost 2 years old and soo fun!

"Professor Taylor" is the tabby and "Glacier" is the white one (my avatar right now)!

And finally Evie, royal pain:

All your cats are so pretty! I loved seeing all of them.
We share our home with 4 cats!

Image
Wiggy, Mystic and Mr. Underfoot Wiggy is one of our Boston Terriers, she weighs 23 pounds.
Mystic is the smaller of the two cats.
She is Mr. Underfoots little sister. They have the same mother but are from two different litters. Their Mom is a purebred Siamese. Both Mystic and Mr. Underfoot have the prettiest blue eyes.
Mr.Underfoot was 9 months old and weighed almost 12 pounds when the picture was taken. He has probably gained a couple of pounds since then. Poor little Mystic, at 6 months weighed 5 1/2 pounds. She's not much bigger now.

Image Soleil was adopted thru the humane society that was having an adoption day at PetsMart. Hubby and daughter went in to get dogfood and came out with dogfood and Soleil!
She was a nice surprise. She acts more like a dog then a cat. She plays fetch and drolls when she is happy. She's 4 yrs old now, we've had her three years.

Image Sassafras
Sass will be 8 yrs old this May. She is Queen of the castle and never lets the other cats forget it.
Her Mom is a Ragdoll and Dad is a Manx. I got her from a breeder in Vale NC. She was from an unplanned WHOOPS litter.
All the kittens born had bob tails. I think she is so unique. And a beautiful kitty if I do say so myself.
Got a phone call from my brother this afternoon, looks like we're adding one to our litter!
He's moving and can't take his kitten with him, so...big sis is taking on Klondike!
Does this mean Barney isn't getting a playmate??
just another feline companion...maybe this one will actually like barney!
I'm so sad that I can't get another cat. Maybe when Mr. J goes to Iraq this fall, I can sneak one in and pull the "look who walked to our doorstep" card. ;)

I love Calvin & Bentley pic! :D
Thanks! We're getting there, slowly but surely. You should see them at night; I've got Calvie snuggling under my arm under the covers, Bentley is on top of the covers and he & Calvin are nose to nose.

Definitely heartwarming and a nice way to fall asleep. :)
Awwww...Jil...how sweet!! :D
Just loved all the photos!!! Bentley boy and "his cat" was great. The other felines shown were just beautiful!!! I love cats just as much as dogs...all gorgeous!
