Move to Nashville completed

Well, Daisy, Mork and I arrived in Nashville last week. Feb was certainly a very busy month with travelling for the interview, getting the job, finding a place to live and moving (start to finish in 20 days).

The move went fairly well but Daisy has become somewhat wary of men since then. I think it is in part because of the movers coming into the house and taking everything out. Before this she would occasionally bark at or seem to be afraid of men which made me wonder if she had been abused before I got her (she does show some signs occasionally but is getting quite used to being totally spoiled).

Imediately after the move she would bark at any man that approached her but this is slowly improving during our walks and at the dog park (found one nearby today - first time she's been to one - she loved it). I realize that she's also had to go through a lot in the last month, with all of the traveling and the move. I have signed her up for the Advanced class at PetSmart starting in 2 wks which I'm sure will help as well.

Have managed to keep Mork inside snce the move. He has access to the balcony off the living room which is on the 2nd floor of the building and this seems to be okay w/ him. For a cat growing up in the country, the past year of moving to the city, getting hit by a car followed by surgery and moving again, he seems to be adjusting well. I just hope he continues to be satisfied with the balcony and doesn't get out.

Have spent a week at the new job which was all in training but the people seem great so am hopeful. The unpacking is proving to be a lot worse than the packing - no deadlines. This weekend I had such plans to finish up and get things organized, but ended up being very self indulgent and spent more time reading and sleeping than doing anything productive. Guess if I can find enough stuff to get throuh another week, there's always another weekend to try to get things done.

I am happy to hear the move went smoothly.
As for unpacking....It took me a year to completely empty all the boxes in the house  Like you said...no deadlines 8)
I am sure Daisy will relax more with time, she probably thinks every man she sees is going to make her move again.
Sounds like you needed a rest. The boxes will wait for you. That's great about the dog park and Mork with his very own balcony. Hope you all settle in and are very happy.
Moving sucks!!! But gald you have the bulk of it over. Just take ONE BOX AT A TIME :D
Glad to hear your move went well. It's always a pain to have to unpack. It seems like the boxes just keep multiplying.

Be careful with Mork and the balcony. We had a cat staying with us that we would let onto the second floor porch until one day we couldn't find him. Well, he turned up at the back door about 10 minutes later. When he came back in he went straight out to the porch and sat there. After watching him for about 5 minutes, we saw him fling himself off the railing to the bushes below and run around to the door to be let back in. That cat was nuts!
