Ugh! It Wasn't Just Clyde

Here I thought it was just Clyde with the runs since it was very obviously stuck to his backside. Lucy likes to do her business on the side of the house so I don't always watch her. Well, darn having a tail because Lucy was hiding some stuff under her tail and, no pun intended, she let out the mother lode today. She came in from outside and it was all over her. I lifted her tail and was met with one of the most disgusting sights that I had ever seen in the world of poo. We had to toss her right in the tub because there was no other clean up possibility. Poor baby. Back to the rice water and Immodium for us. At least Clyde seems fine today.

After reading all the other posts, I'm starting to think the community water at doggy day care has something to do with it. Does anyone have any suggestions as to what to do about that other than just not going to day care anymore? I'm afraid this is going to happen all the time now.

It is probably just making it's "run" through the community. No pun intended.... I think to avoid re infection the doggy day cares, dog parks etc all need to be notified so that some preventative measures can be taken (hopefully). (ie: remove standing water daily, washing dishes frequently, through cleaning of any multi-dog areas etc)

Sorry to hear Lucy is sick now.... it's awful with one, and even more so with two.

I hope everything is back to normal soon!
Oh, man that really sucks!

I have no helpful advise for you, just sympathy.

And I hope it doesn't turn into three . . .

Sorry, couldn't resist.

Hope Lucy feels better soon. :(
I'm so sorry to hear your pups are under the weather. I have alot of sympathy. Hope they feel better soon.
Poor Lucy!! :( Hope she's feeling better soon!!

Glad to hear Clyde is on the mend! :)
Man, when it rains, it pours, doesn't it?? First you fall on your tailbone, then Clyde gets sick, now Lucy. They say things happen in threes - let's hope you're done!

How is your back feeling?

Chris,

It's so weird, I just sent an e-mail to Jil that said almost the same thing that you just said verbatim! Well, this morning the dogs seemed to be doing fine but my tailbone is hurting worse than it has all week. It's odd. I sure hope my 3 bad things are done!
Poor Jill!

Poor Clyde!

Poor Lucy!
I hope everyone is better soon!
Taking anything for your back? Doing any compresses, hot or cold? When my back acts up, cold works better than hot, but that's just me.

Well, it's actually my tailbone but it, of course, it affects all movement. James also has a bad back so I know how bad they can be for you guys and I feel bad whining about my stupid injury. I've just been taking Motrin during the day and Darvocet at night. It feels more like muscular pain around the tailbone than an injury to the tailbone itself and I've noticed hot showers definitely give me a little more mobility. I just want it to go away. :(
What's the update on Lucy? Hope she's feeling better.
Lucy's doing well now too. The rice water really seemed to help both of them a lot. We gave her some Immodium and that worked well for her too. I think (fingers crossed) that we're over it!
Jill,

Did you use the recipe I provided? Did you modify it at all? What kind of rice did you use, and how much did you feed for what size dogs!

Phew! I'm just full of questions today!
I used 4 cups of water and one cup of rice. After the water boiled, I turned the heat to a low simmer, added the rice, covered the pan and let it simmer for 15 minutes. The first day I gave them just the water mixed with a tiny bit of rice and ground beef and the next day I gave them the leftover soggy rice with ground beef again. The morning poo report: Clyde is solid again and Lucy hasn't gone yet.
YAAAAAY, no more major clean ups for you, I hope :?
Yeah, glad all is well that ENDS well.
