I'm just gonna throw this out there

As most of you guys know, I work with Habitat for Humanity. Our staff is very small, including me there are four staff members. We are all very close.

My boss, Karen has had a very rough time the past few months. Her husband just got heart stints put in last Monday. He is also a highly functioning alcoholic. That situation is just brewing up for a big implosion. She gets no support whatsoever. Also she has three grown daughters from another marriage.

They all have serious health issues. One has Lupus, this daughter has a one and half year old that Karen takes care of most of the time on top of paying that daughters bills. the other has Chronic Fatigue, she lives in California, and Stacey, who has a unidentifiable tumor behind her heart and a condition where she needed a bone marrow transplant.

I am very troubled to say that after receiving her 2nd bone marrow transplant and 3rd bout of radiation to try to shrink the tumor, they took her off life support yesterday at 12:32pm. She passed on at 1:15pm. Karen is devastated, she is a momma to her core, and i think she always thought Stacey would pull out of it. Stacey left behind a one year old son and a husband.

I guess what i am asking you guys to do with me is keep her in your thoughts today. She needs all the strength she can get, heaven sent or otherwise. Her husband has decided not to join her, his exact words to me were, " Why the hell would i go see a dead person, i don't want to run the risk of getting stuck with another kid to raise"

You don't have to reply to this post, just keep her in your thoughts and remember never to take your family for granted.

What a sad situation!!!!
My prayers and my heart go out to her.!!!!
That poor woman : I hope she can keep her sanity, how much can one person bear? Her husband sounds like a real prince  Shannon, it was very kind of you to be such a good friend.
My thoughts and prayers are with her.
Her, her family and you will be in my prayers. God bless.
Poor lady. It's horrible to lose a child but to have an unsupportive husband only adds to the grief. She's in my prayers.
She is in my prayers too.
It just amazes me what the Human Spirit can endure.....Some people just go go thru life with a few little pebbles in their Road of Life and others have huge bolders in their Road of Life........I do Know Tha What doesn't Kill You Makes You Stronger........ Believe Me I Know..... My Heart goes out to this Lady........ What can we do to Help Her Other then Keep Her In Our Thoughts and Prayers? Respectfully, Kaye
How terrible. I'll have them in my prayers.
I am going to share your responses, if you don;t mind with er, it'll do her heart good to know that she isn't aloe in all of this. Satcey services will be this friiday in Lorenzo TX. The Habitat staff will be there. Other than that i don't think there is any more we can do. She needs to grieve without feeling like she needs to come back to work :( BUt maybe it'll help her move through it :? Thank you everybody
