I'm not sure how many of you have heard, but one of Minnesota's greatest baseball players passed away yesterday afternoon after complications from a stroke. Kirby Pucket was my baseball hero when I was a little girl- he won us 2 World Series in 1987 and 1991. He was a truly great player, and a great embassador for baseball in my state.
Rest in Peace Kirby. You will be missed |

| Yes, I saw the notice this morning. Such a big man was still a great player. |
| I loved him, too. His was always a baseball card I wanted. |
And now Dana Reeve, widow of Christopher Reeve, died from lung cancer. She was also 44..... and a non-smoker.
Two great people, dying too young. Sympathy for family, friends and fans. Especially their their children. |
That's so sad, Kirby Puckett personified the best things about baseball. I hadn't heard about Dana Reeve, her poor children |
Kirby Puckett was an inspiration to everyone and such a great role model for up-and-coming players. He will be sorely missed.
Dana Reeve is the next thing to a saint, in my book. She steadfastly stood by Christopher and galantly fought for everything for the foundation he started. Never having smoked a day in her life, this is quite sad and shocking.
Deepest condolences to both families.
