Back from our trip...=D

Well our anniversary to Banff, AB was a blast. It was so nice to be away, I wish the driving wasn't so long.

Our hotel was a mini apt, with a loft bedroom. Huge jacuzzi, wood fireplace, full kitchen (which we used for breakfast), 2 bathrooms...it was like we had another home. Under tile heating too...

We took a gondola ride to the top of one mountain, walked to a historic weather station. Also went to the hot springs. Had a spa treatment. Faboulous dinners, some shopping.

Saw 2 deer in someones yard...I swear they were two stuffed deers...cause we drove by and they looked poised. When we came back a couple hours later, they were still there...so we stopped and watched and then they finally moved.

The weather was gorgeous, we didn't have time to try skiing.

The kids also had a great time at auntie's house, played with some cousins. They made auntie knit a sweater outfit for their stuffed puppies...this particular puppy is only 2-3 inches tall....a Christmas ornament with the strings cut off...stuffie. She had to draw a line at the tail warmer.

It was a good time for everyone, and I am so glad we had the will done, my mind could focus on the fun, and not worry about it. It was peaceful.

Sounds like a wonderful time! Glad you were able to relax.
Sounds like everything went great! So glad you were able to relax while away - you need to do that to recharge your batteries occasionally. Welcome back!

WOW, what GORGEOUS mountains!!!!!!!!
Hi Daisie :) .

Glad to hear you had a great time. Too bad I didn't know you were going to Banff, I could of given you more info on the place as I lived there for 13 years with my first sheppie (Nandi). I took her everywhere with me, hiking, camping, cross country skiing and when I walked her in town, the Japanese tourists went nuts for her and kept taking her picture. It is a magical place and I hope you had a chance to visit Lake Louise and the Banff Springs hotel too?

If you ever go back, you have to try rock climbing and white water rafting :) . We used to hike the Sulphur Mountain gondola that you took, then ride down and go sit in the hotsprings for an hour. If you ever need more info on the area, just ask. Hope to see some pics :)

Uncle Pete :)

Apparantly this ride was originally built in 1958, and first ride up was July 17, 1959. Then reconstructed in 1997, and reopened 1998.

Historical site was a weather station, a man was to climb the mountain regularly, took him 9 hours to get to this point. Built this cabin, and spent the night. We walked from the gonadala stop to the top of this peak, and back...in the summer it would be beautiful and more trails lead to the original hot spring pools.

Sorry don't really have tons of pictures, the Banff springs was nothing special to take a picture of, and we didn't have the time to visit the historical sites this time. This trip was for relaxing, and the Upper springs was a fancy hottub, but very nice to relax in.

We've been to the historical springs at Fairmont and they were pretty cool. I have tons of mountain pictures from the years of living near Jasper, that we didn't take our camera out much.

Thought these deer were fake when we first drove by, they were standing so still in the driveway. When we came back a couple hours later they were still there in the same spot, but after watching them they decided to move off.
