Why do dogs like some toys and hate other toys?

| KMart sells a furry hedgehog that grunts instead of squeeks and it is a big favorite. Good question!

| Winston just hates the kong toy. I bought it a last year when he was a puppy and tried putting different things inside of it and he just does not like it. As a matter of fact he took it outside in the patio and it is just laying out there and he never goes to it or it interested in it. |
| That is a funny question.
My younger brother spent his junior year of college in France. When my parents went to visit him they bought a French rope toy for Maggie. She's always hated it. She's never been much for toys, but she just really never liked this. I thought maybe it smelled funny or she was just being patriotic  ...so when we got Barney my parents mailed us the rope toy and Barney likes it. Not his favorite, but he definitely plays with it...So that's an example of exact same toy being liked and hated by different dogs.
Barney has favorites and not favorites here. We got this round, hard, nubby ball thing that is supposed to be good for his teeth and that's the one he never plays with... |
| Annie doesn't like anything made of rubber. I'm sure the rubber smells bad to her. She loves stuffed toys, squeaker or no squeaker. |
