Oh Jasper

Jason took him to get groomed today, despite my wishes. I wanted to cut his hair myself, but Jason said I already had too much on my plate to worry about it. Well, he just brought him home, and I burst out in tears. He's completely naked - I wanted to leave him a couple of inches long. Jason just told the groomer to shave him, and that's what she did. It's his fault, lol He looks soooo skinny too. I mean, his ribs aren't showing or anything, but he just looks so different without all his fluffy hair. It's going to take a LOOOONG time to get adjusted to this. On the bright side, he seems to be enjoying his haircut.

Aw! This happened to us too more than once! 8O I know the feeling. It won't make you feel any better, but...it will grow back.
They LOVE being shaved! The are so much peppier!

We always think our dogs look so sleek, like greyhounds, when they're shaved. Especially the long pointy snout! It's shocking! 8O

You'll be used to it in a week, and like Stacy said, it'll grow!
Awwww.... lol... it'll grow! LOL He probably loves it...
I can't get cinde short enough!! the clippers we use are not getting through her fur

I have to do it in stages.

we will get there though and never let it tget long again!!!
I bet it's sad seeing him shaved! We used to shave our Border Collie in the summer, and we felt so bad for her looks but she LOVED it - she thought she was the prettiest girl around! Aren't they funny?!
I bet Jasper looks really cute!! Max was also shaved naked about a week ago due to his matting. I think he feels so much better now, and he's a lot easier to dry off after a walk in the rain  I also could'nt believe how skinny and gangly Max looked, his feet look enormous!! His hair will grow very quickly, don't worry!!

I'll take a pic of him after I get the boys settled down in bed. Jason is working the evening shift tonight, so I'm all by myself with them. She used what looks like a 10 all over. His nose is razorburned. :( Oh, and he zigged while she zagged and his ear got cut too. Poor sweetie. I think I'll do the grooming for now on, whether we shave him completely or not. Like I told Jason, I could have used a 10 all over and shaved him naked in 20 minutes and saved us $75. lol
Awwww poor jasper 8O Look on the bright side, no grooming for awhile and in a few months he will be a cute fluff ball again. :D Does not take long to grow back fluffy again
I just uploaded some pics. I can't get over how skinny he looks now, lol He eats ALL the time, but he also runs around a lot outside too. I thought he was getting a little overweight before. I guess it was all the puffy hair. :)
Does Jasper have one blue eye and one brown eye? I don't think I've ever seen his eyes before! See, that's one bonus-- now you can see his eyes all the time. :P

yeah, he does. :)
Looks like the two nekkid sheepies I have running around here. They are loving their short coat. It comes back pretty fast. In two months he will be all fuffy like a plush animal.

Let it grow out just beyond where you want it to be and then take the dog to the groomer and carefully explain you just want less than an inch removed, the overall length should be X. After several visits the groomer will know and also have a record. Most groomers keep records. If your's does, have them put "Do NOT shave unless WIFE gives approval. Call first."
Just look at him!
The picture of him in the tub?
He's smiling! :D
Awwww....Gail, he looks happy!! I don't think I've ever seen his eyes either - what a nice surprise! :D

hehe, I was a groomer for 5 years. I told Jason that I don't care how busy I am, I'm doing it myself for now on. :) I really think it's the fact he looks so little now, and all the work I've put into his hair the last 14 months. I spent at a minimum 30 minutes a day brushing him. I wonder what I'll do with my free time now? lol
