Group prayer request for the missing Whippet in NYC

Crosspost please!

Hi friends,

For those of you from other breeds who possibly may not have heard, the beautiful whippet Vivi, Ch. Bohem C'est la Vie, was lost by Delta airlines at JFK airport after her visit to Westminster, where she had received an Award of Merit. It was Wednesday when she was lost at JFK, and she is believed to be lost in the marshes somewhere surrounding the airport. We all want her found quickly, and we are so worried about the cold.

There are many studies as to the power of prayer and positive energy, and we would like all of you to join us in a group prayer and visualization for the return of Vivi.

The group prayer will take place on Sunday February 19 at 9 p.m. Eastern time (6 p.m. Pacific standard time).

Please, if you can, stop what you are doing, and if you can light a candle to focus, then spend 5 minutes praying for the safe return of Vivi and visualizing a positive picture of her being found and joyfully reunited with
her owners. This is the thought and picture that we are focusing on.

If you are busy or not home - if you could just stop for a moment & pray
with us that would be great.

Please send this to any other breed lists or friends.

This is such a heartbreaking story, I can't even imagine the anguish these people feel
Hi,

I hope that Vivi is found safe and sound. My heart goes out to her family.

Marianne
I hope she is found safe & sound. How sad. :( I'm a little late, but I'm saying a quick prayer for her now.
i was rather hoping that vivi had been found by now. what the owners must be going through at this time. sending extra prayers their way.
I can only imagine how harrowing this is for the family. I missed the post in time for the group prayer, but will be sending my up now. Hoping for her soon return.
I just spoke to Paul this morning (Monday 8AM). The search goes on. They
are concentrating on the airport grounds, on the many buildings that are on
the airport property, not all of them occupied.

There are still a lot of people "working the perimeter" outside of the
airport, but Paul feels that Vivi is somewhere on the grounds. He has
spoken with a lot of psychics, and most of them seem to be of that feeling
as well. Every one of them says that they think Vivi is safe at the moment.

The other thing that Paul wanted to share is that the Port Authority people
have been "nice, accessible, just great." They have given them access no
one can get in this day and age, driving them around the airport, allowing
them into locations that people just can't have in this day and age. He
can't say enough good things about them. So please, if you are calling or
thinking of calling the PA about this, know that they are doing a lot for
Paul and Jil and Bo ...

Since they do think that she is on the grounds somewhere, they are again
thinking about using search dogs to look for her and are trying to make
arrangements with PA to allow for that. They have a team tentatively lined
up for tomorrow.

Paul relays the word that they appreciate all the support that they are
receiving from everyone and everywhere.

Keep the faith. A little prayer would be good. Cross post OK.
Do you know if they have set out any dog traps? She must be very hungary, poor dear, and maybe at times when there are no flights happening she may sneak out for some food.

Kentucky Fried Chicken gets them every time....
yes they do have some live animal traps set, and the POA are taking the owners in and out of a lot of old hangers looking for her as well. I do believe they will find this girl soon. She is cold and scared and hungry. I believe that they aer working with some animal psychic's to find her and they are bringing in some SAR animal tracking dogs.
i keep coming back to this post hoping that there is some good news. heres praying that the sniffer dogs have luck and find vivi
Just spoke to Paul ... no luck today ... but they did get permission from
the Port Authority to bring in the search dogs Tuesday. And they have now
set an amount for the reward of $5,000.

Poor baby, it's cold out there too. I sure hope they find him. Our thoughts are with them.
Kentucky Fried Chicken in those traps will entice her in. That has saved sooo many escaped, and lost dogs. If there is any way of letting the folks know to use KFC as bait they need to be told!
This is so sad. They must be going crazy. Our prayers are with them. How did the dog get loose? Are they sure someone didn't take her? I hope they find her safe and well soon. I hope she's not too scared it must be so loud and frightening. This is a worst nightmare situation.
Take it still no word yet on vivi return :?: hope the tracker dogs have some luck today. will keep watching this post
Fox news is covering this story for those of you that want updates.

At this moment (1229 MST) they have not found her. However, they have 12 psychics called in and are concentrating around some heated hangers. They have found Vivi 'poop' and all involved feel she is live, just scared. (Well hell's bells' *I* would be too!)

They have set out live animal traps and there is a huge search going on for anyone that wants to go and help. Here is the information:

nothing tonight. You know, I'm not going to give up prayers and hope. On the showdog list there was a dog lost for 4 months and they finally found the dog..........

let's just hope it doesn't take that long.

I know I would be beside myself.

FORMAL SEARCH CALLED OFF
FOR MISSING WESTMINSTER WHIPPET

The formal search for a Westminster award-winning Whippet that escaped from
her crate at New York's JFK Airport on Wednesday, February 15, has been
called off as of Sunday, February 26.

Ch. Bohem's C'est La Vie, co-owned by Jil Walton and Paul Lepiane of Ojai,
CA somehow got loose as she was being transported to a Delta Airlines
aircraft for a return flight home to California from the show. She was last
seen that day running across the tarmac and going under the fence
surrounding the 5,000-acre airport. Port Authority personnel, volunteers,
animal psychics and search dog teams have been involved in the hunt for Vivi
ever since, but there have been no sightings since that first day that she
escaped.

The owners believe that she has returned to the airport and is hiding in one
of the many unoccupied (but heated) cargo terminals. Security
considerations, combined with the fact that the airport itself covers 5,000
acres, have forced the owners and volunteers to reluctantly call off the
search. The owners will return to California and hope for news of a
sighting, which will bring them back to New York immediately.

The Port Authority and Delta Airlines have assured the owners that they will
continue to search daily for the dog, and continue to check the humane traps
that have been set for her.

A $5,000 reward is being offered for finding Vivi. Anyone having knowledge
of her whereabouts is asked to call the Westminster communications office at
212-213-3212 any time (24 hours).

For daily updates on the search from Bo Bengtson, Vivi's breeder, log on to
www.awc2006.com. Another source of information is Denise Flaim's blog on
www.Newsday.com.

Vivi, a Best In Show winning dog, had won an Award of Merit in competition
at Westminster on Feb. 14.
