SICK of Winter

Any body else absolutely totally and completely SICK of winter??? I'm looking out at the snow and the cold wishing for some warmth and some green. I'd even take rain and mud as long as it was WARM!!!!!!!!!!!!! Doug says I'm getting CRANKY but I'm getting tired of being cold and having to bundle up to go everywhere!!!!! If I could afford it I head for a week on the beach somewhere. :x

How about Atlantic City's beach and boardwalk?

Although it's still so cold, I'm not sure why you'd want to go there right now.

I'll take snow over mud any day-- it keeps the house much cleaner! We've had a lot of cold here in Michigan but not a lot of snow. I realized today, looking at the yard, that, in our entire yard, we've probably got about 2 sq. ft. of grass left. Since we're building a garage in the spring, we're gonna have to resod the whole yard then. I can think of better things that I'd like to spend money on!

It would also figure that the first winter that I find a sport that keeps me looking forward to snow, I go ahead and break my elbow! Might be on my last week of being benched for that though. :P
We had records highs in the 80's on Wednesday and Thursday.
The front came through Friday night, so yesterday and today the high is below freezing. Over 500 accidents on the icy roads in DFW yesterday.
We are supposed to be back up to the 60s by Wednesday.

I would like to have a real season, instead of this microseason.
That beach would be just fine Ron!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I agree Ginny, let it be OVER!!!! We have over 1' of snow on the ground :( I'm back in the woods so it may be here until July  Friday we had rain, freezing rain, thunder, lightening, sleet and snow, all within 1 hour  It's currently a whopping 6 degrees and windy, 30 sounds pretty good right now!
Ron, what your picture doesn't show is the other end of the runway..... tall mountains!
But they do have great beaches.
You all can come visit me...I might be cold all of the time, but you guys would probably love it...I think its about 70 out right now..oh and sunny
I'M READY FOR WINTER TO BE OVER! It's been very cold here in the Chicago area. Winter seems to get longer and longer every year. I do think Annie really does like the cold weather. We put her out in the yard she just sits down or barks at whatever she sees (even the wind). We need to remind her to go potty out there as she forgets sometimes. Typically we take her two 10-15 minute walks a day, but with the temps as cold as they have been, we put her in the yard. I'll feel better when we go to Palm Springs next month!!!
Been Hot here I am looking forward to the cooler months
I agree! Didn't mind it too much here in Missouri, with generally warmer that normal temperatures - until the last couple of days when it dipped down to 5°. and had to pack Barney and Maggie up for a Show and Go. Fortunately the truck was garaged and they enjoyed a balmy 30° for the 30 minute ride to the ring. It was our first experiance in a trail ring. They did quite well.
 What can I say tocheer you up :?:
 We will at last have snow here for 2 months more
I'm not sick of winter. I LOVE winter. It's just too bad I live in Florida. We haven't had too many cold days. (Not enough in my opinion) Yeah, I could do without being sick but I like cold weather! I need to move somewhere cold!!!

Oh, what? This is the 'I Hate Winter' thread? Oops, sorry!
It's freezing here in Pa. too. I got outside more than I usually do this winter. My husband and I bundled up last night and walked the dogs in town.It went from 60 degrees a few days ago to about 26 degrees today.Weird weather.I'm ready for sunshine too. The day it was 60 and sunny I washed my sheets and hung them out. They smelled so summery it made me long for summer even more. I love to hear the spring peepers. I can't wait.
People who live in FLORIDA ALWAYS SAY I LOVE WINTER, of course you love winter, you only experiece in from afar. You don't have to face the bitter cold every morning to go to work, shovel the snow, pay the heat bill, pile on the blankets, wear the hats that flatten your hair, always have six layers of clothes on...... YOU LIVE IN FLORIDA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hi Ginny,

I had those rainy day blues as it had rained in my area from Dec 5 to Feb almost nonstop. The news stories were full of people that suffer from SAD - Seasonal Disorder, lack of vit D..dunno I just know I was in a slump. I can relate to the Winter Blues, sorta.

Then suddenly my yard is full of crocus and emerging tulips and daffodils...spring is just around the corner! Buy yourself some fresh flowers, some nice bubble stuff for the bath and you enjoy your time off. I hope you are feeling better soon.

Ron, I think we'd all LOVE to see you doing the Hula.
it's been below zero for the past few days every morning and our highs for the day barely reach the double digits, 30 would feel like a heat wave!, so needless to say I'm sick of winter too!!! oh, and I had the flu the past couple days, we're on a roll here!!
I am SOOOOOO ready for summer!! Altho here we havent had a typical winter. We ahve had temps in the high 30's too low 40's.Just last Thursday we had 9inches of snow fall, and of course the whole area went nuts w/ closeing school, even doc. offices 8O .

So YES!I am ready for summer,I hate winter being a Miami girl all my life til I moved too the tundra winer takes it toll on me!!Im in for a warm beach :go: :go:
I'm definitely ready for warm weather. My hats are off to you guys that live in the snow. It is beautiful to look at and visit but I am too cold most of the time and I live in the desert. The dogs playing in the snow though, that might be worth it.
Be careful...las vegas sheepie lover...they dont like us desert dwellers to whine about how "cold" it is....

But see everyone...I am NOT the only one who thinks its cold out here!
HAHAHAHAHAHAHA

It's ok, we are having a heat wave here!!!! 18 degrees!!!!!!!!! But the sun is shinning!!!!!!!!
I've come in rather late here but, I'll be happy to see autumn/fall, we've had some very hot weather this year - some days around 40degC. I don't like the heat at all and I would love some cooler weather. :D Roll on 1st March - our first day of autumn.
Maybe we should start a "weather exchange" here!!!!!!!!!!!!

Jess, Love your Avatar and enjoyed your web site, BEAUTIFUL dogs!!!!! Welcome
We're celebrating here...6:13 and it's STILL light out! Of course some of it's from all the snow on the ground :(
Thank you Taskers Mom.

Hey what a good idea. Now, would someone please tell me how we go about exchanging some of our weather for yours.

Our temp. has been in the high 30's today - that's celcius, and would ya know our power went off. It was off for about an hour. Oh boy, does the house heat up quickly when there is no air and no fans working. It was awful.

Maybe it would be easier to just send each other plane tickets to our respective homes 8O  8O
Today's forecast 4" of snow :(
Tomorrow's forecast 4" of snow

And blowing and drifting
And cold

Where is SUMMER?????
Sorry, but I have to brag about the 77 degree weather we are having here. 8) It is gorgeous.... Ok, who is coming for a visit?
I'm sooooooooooooooooooo there 8) 8) 8)
Am spending my first winter in TN (moved from VT) and am loving the weather. The coldest it has gotten all winter was about 12 degrees but that was only one night. Usually the nights are in the 20's and while everyone tells me this has been an unusually warm winter - it was in the 50's most of January with some 60's. The first week in Feb was "cold" and stayed in the 30's but the next week it was almost 70. That's certainly better than the 30 below (plus windchill) and highs of 0 that usually happens at some point during the winter in VT although I understand it has been warmer than usual there as well.

We did get some snow. After the first "storm" a couple of weeks ago - we got about 3", I went out to play at night w/ Daisy as I thought the snow might be gone by morning but it lasted most of the next day. The 2nd "storm" we got closer to 4" and it stayed in spots for a couple of days but wasn't as good for making snowballs. Also had to laugh when they were predicting the 1st storm. On Fri they kept saying it would snow over the weekend (2-4") and already talking aobut school closings on Monday. The snow stopped by Sun/ total about 3" and yes the schools were closed on Mon. I know the mountain areas got more snow and can understand schools there being closed, but in town w/ 3" ??

Anyway - this week I saw my first Robin and today I saw a dandelion so spring must be on the way.
ljbrigham--that's exactly how it is here in VA...if there is even a possibility of snow it seems that school and county offices are closed...
Hmmmmm, I've heard of people do that. What a good idea.
Okay all...gasp....Im wearing sandels...with a turtleneck and dress pants...didnt have boots that match.....space heater is on high..and toes are warm again :D
ha ha--I was going to wear sandals today for the same reason! I decided on Uggs...
Yea, welllllllll I'da worn my sandles but I would most likely have gotten frost bite in the 2 inches of snow that fell over night
