Boy take lessons, girls always love it when you buy jewelery!!!
ED listen up. This is part of your training.
HAHAHAHAHA!!! HIM!!!! I got EVERYTHING some sort of peanut butter and chocolate (I don't like peanut butter and chocolate) so it would ALL be for him
I am buying him some Chocolates.... He BETTER get me some
Valentine's Day? uhh ohhhh
We'll go out for dinner and give each other nice cards...lol....he doesnt really like "hallmark" holidays...so its a big step in the right direction!
RON!!!!!

Mike is getting "underworld" on UMD for his PSP... Translated into english, he is getting the movie underworls for his portable gaming console... He'll LOVE it. I wanted to get him "Family Guy" Seaon 1, but it was too much $$ to spend on valentine's day. Josh... GOOD PRESENT!!!!! I love getting jewelry! I'm sure Andi'll be delighted!
You don't really have to buy what I'm giving him...

In all seriousness, James doesn't care for getting gifts so we'll just spend the evening together and I'll open my gifts. That works for me!
8O Uaually arnfinn is cooking the sinner, so I will make him a nice homem. dinner
Don't have a significant other :( But I do have a dog :go:

 Sorry 'bout that...I was having a pity party
I painted the hallway today, so I guess that's my gift to him. Our kiddos wanted to play Picasso a few months ago with permenant markers. I've been nagging Jason about painting over their "art" since he got back from Katrina. I finally gave up waiting on him and did it myself. Brandon wanted to help, so he was covered head to toe in paint, but we managed to get it looking decent. Now, I don't have to be embarrassed over marks all over the wall when company comes over. :) I say it's his gift, because I'll leave him alone about painting the hallway now, lol
I bought Billy 1 lb of Russell Stover assorted Chocolates and A great card with a HUGE pin to wear for the day that says... I'm Lost without my wife"
Which is so true for him.... If it weren't for me he'd never be able to leave for work....he loses his keys on a daily basis
i made my boyfriend a chocolate eclair cake... which he better appreciate because i never ever ever cook (i didnt make the frosting.... but he doesnt have to know that..)

It's OK, you are allowed!!!!!!!!!!! Until Doug rode into my life on his white horse I had LOTS AND LOTS of Valentines Days that I ignored. I HATED the Day and always wished I could go to the moon or to mars or to the sahara OR ANYWHERE that I didn't have to constantly be rememinded that EVERYONE in the FREAKING world had SOMEONE but me!!!!!!!

Your day will come, don't rush into it!!!! There was a very good Oprah on yesterday (sorry I love Oprah 8) ) about how women need to learn to be complete within themselves and not look for it in a MAN!!!! Very good advice!!!

Sorry, I was typing to fast:-)
This is right: Usually arnfinn is cooking the dinner, so I will make him a nice home made dinner
I always complain that he doesn't play any board games with me.
He always complains about how crappy the ones we have are.

So for Valentine's, I'm giving him a few board games that I wrapped and taped with homemade cookies and poems all over. (it's only 6 a.m. here, so he hasn't received it yet) I got Scene It, Scrabble, and Scattegories.
Ooooh, I want to come to Alaska and play Scene It! I rock at that game! Nobody here will play it with me anymore because I always win. I can't help it that my degree is in broadcasting!
If you need a lifeline, give me a call!

I 2nd that! I've been single since my divorce in 1999. I just made up my mind that I never wanted to be part of a couple again. It used to bother me because everyone just sort of expects that you should want to be with someone, or that you have to be--in order to be happy and fufilled. Personally I think if your not happy and fufilled by yourself, your never going to be that way with someone else either. You don't have to have a significant other to be complete just buy yourself a box of chocolates and tell everyone that your dog got them for you!
We are a very "food motivated" house....Troy asked me what I wanted for V-Day.. I said "lobster".. when asked what he wanted... his reply was "baked salmon"

Something "fishy" will be going on in our house tonight :P

that is good advice.

i always tell my friends not to get into relationships when they are feeling down, because nothing will make you happy when you are upset but yourself, and you need to have happiness from inside or noone will ever be able mke you happy.

whoever said "dog is man's best friend" forgot about sheepies, they count as everyone's best friend, don't distress, you could do MUCH worse on valentine's day than a sheepdog's unconditional love.

besides, everyone knows valentine's day is just a silly tradition turned commercial by the card and flower industries to bolster their figures in a set of months usually associated with a lull in sales and profit  (someone had to say it)

True, like Christmas, the retailers can make it all about the $$$ if you let them. Which is why the best Valentines are the ones that are all about your significant other and not about meeting the commercial expectations. We love to eat out, so instead of cards and candy we had a great dinner out last night at our favorite restaurant. Which was HOPPIN' for a Monday with all the people like us who were trying to avoid the Valentine's rush! They even had live music, which was fun.
Well....I do not care for Valentine's Day, much! (I think it is an unfair holiday for the men....women have too high of expectations and when they don't get what they want feelings get hurt)

I have been with my husband for almost 10 years and we always get into it about gifts.....I don't want any, he wants to get me something........so, he just sent me flowers to my work and sent me an E Card....(so I cannot get upset to his face) I have to admit, I loved it! :D I did buy him two movies that he mentioned he wanted.

I do not have any plans, I even forgot to put out something for dinner  , so it will probably be a fast food night and we'll probably watch the movies with my other two valentines (Micah & Josh).

****My favorite valentines was when we were first married, we didn't have much money so Quinton took me to McDonald's got drive through and then took me to the lake that we got married at for a picnic! Or maybe the picnic on the beach at night....that was when we were engaged...he had candles and everything!! :D

I don't want gifts I want thought! Guess I am one of those wierd girls!

Great advice! But seriously I got the pity out of my system. Besides I have sooooo much going on right now I'm not even looking. It's just that today is Couple Day.

Yeah. I agree Louie is a good valentine.

I totally agree with this. I think chocolates and a card-sure. But (to me) it 's a cop out. Everything is done for you. (and not this isn't the pity talking  )

And that's my rant on the subject.

I do hope everyone has enjoyed their day. HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY, EVERYONE! :hearts: :hearts:
