We already have 4 other dog's a collie,a lab and 2 lurchers and I also foster and homecheck for greyhound rescue.
We all fell in love with Isobel as soon as we set eyes on her,she is a complete babe.I'm hoping to get lot's of useful advice from you all and can't wait till I've got time to look through all the photos.

Isobelesmum and Pepe, there are 2 more of us in the UK that are in this forum, Myself (live in Northamptonshire) and Mikeyg, who lives near Milton Keynes

Welcome to you both.

Rachel, which breeder did you get her from ?
Isobel actually came from a friend who got her a couple of weeks ago,but unfortunately her other oes who is 6 took a big dislike to her so she decided it would be best to rehome her and I was lucky enough to be able to give her a home. She came from Devon origanally.

I'm just curious since there are a few UK people on the forum.

I've never been to the UK (always wanted to though) and I just imagine that there are OES's all over the place running around in the country. Is this true? If so, I will put the UK on the top of my list of places to visit!
When I first joined I thought that Canada, the NE US and the UK must be over-ran with OES.
I am glad to see they are a bit more spread out.
In Holland there were all of these different types of St. Bernards. Do you really think England had OES all over the place?

By the way, welcome all! Cannot believe how many newbies with pups. I want one now too. But Abbi gets jealous of my husband, I don't know what she would do if I got a pup.
/wave to Isobel, Dougal and Drake

Congrats on the new puppy, Isobelsmum. Hope she is all to you that our Shayleigh is to us. Loving, fun, attentive, and most of all . . . BUMPTIOUS!

Thanks for the welcome everyone.
I've actually met very few oes that's why for me owning one is like a dream come true.A friend of ours had one when we were kids and we all fell in love with her.I've probably only ever met about 4 oes,Isobel being one of them.
That's why I'm so glad I found this forum,I'm really enjoying reading everybodies posts. :)
Hello from Wisconsin. My name is Martha and I am mom to 2 OES. Bill is my large loveable male and Maggie is my OES mix female, known as the Queen of Wisconsin in our house. We got Bill as a pup 6 years ago and it has been a life of fun ever since. We decided that Bill needed a friend to keep him company while mom and dad are at work so we rescued our Maggie girl. Maggie's story is a sad one, her mother was a pure bred OES who had been attacked by a stray dog after she had been bred by a champion OES male. Needless to say the owner could no longer sell the resulting pups as AKC OES, so he decided not to take care of the pups at all. The few pups that survived his horrible treatment were rescued and taken to a pound. We heard about the pups and had been told by the Illinois OES rescue person that these pups were pure OES and they needed a home. Of course we jumped on the band wagon and went to see the pups. They were not pure OES, but the little female was so sweet we had to take her home. Needless to say we love both our dogs. We are hoping to adopt / rescue another OES male. This is a great web site! - Martha
Welcome Martha! I think this site is pretty nifty too. It is great to hear about other OES owners, their backgrounds, and what is going on.
Sounds like Maggie and Bill have a great life now! I bet they like it a lot in Wisconsin. Abbi is always happiest wheni tis cooler out.

John Arnold -- love your avatar. It is very distinctive.
