It is probably no BIG deal but......

I have to brag on my Ben......I left me boys (Micah 3.5 and Joshua 9 mo) in the livingroom, so I could run to the back of the house (Ben and Kiara were outside...I always seperate the dogs from the children, when I need to step away...anyway, while I was in the back, Micah let the dogs inside...I had no clue...well next thing I know Micah is telling me "Mom, Ben and Josh are eating the dog food!"...... 8O and yes they were....Ben was sitting right next to the baby eating DOG FOOD!

I know that many might not be impressed...(I wasn't impressed that my child likes dog food  ) but, my previous "Big Dog" (Jake the GS) was extreamly aggressive and possessive over what was "his" and would not hesitate to bite, so I was in total shock that they were there together sharing a bowl of food! :clappurple:

I will make sure from now on that the top lock is latched on the door next time.......I know that you should never leave any animal alone with a child, no matter how wonderful they are, but this time it was okay, bearing in mind that my child is not the first to enjoy dog food!

Ben has totally taken my heart and this confirms that we made the right decision in picking eachother! I could not ask for a better friend for my boys!

GOOD JOB Benjamin!!!

I think its a very big deal. I love hearing stories like this! Part of the reason I love sheepies so much is because of the one my Aunt and Uncle had when I was a kid. They lived on a big farm and Bowzer did such a good job of keeping us kids out of trouble. He was like our Nanny!
Hayley (my 1 yr old Daughter)is obsessed with the Dog Food. She will be eating something good like a cookie, go over to the dog food bowls, drop her cookie and start eating dog food :cow: The dogs don't mind because she throws food all over the kitchen floor for them to eat. They think it's a game. Who can get the most.

Glad to hear Ben doesn't have any food aggresiveness.
What a good boy :D

I'm sorry, I'm a little hard of hearing. Did you say that your "sister ate Milkbones a little and she was tied out all night"?
Boooo Hissssss Ron.
>>Ate milkbones as a kid and I turned out fine. Hee hee

Thanks for sharing that story with us Rebecca!

Marianne and the boys
Honestly who hasn't tried a dog bone/dog food...hehehe..in school it became a science experiment.

Brain over willpower, peer pressure, fear of unknown, fear of liking it????

It wasn't until after we tried it our teacher read the ingredients...flour, wheat germ, etc...nothing worse then a real human cookie.

My kids too got into the dog bowl, once...
