Brown little circles on skin

Hi, I am going to take Shanti to the vet, but I would like to have an advance of what it could be. Is the first time that after petting and/or brushing that I knowledge this :( .

Shanti is having this brawn little circles on his skin. I think those are as a result of fleas. (It’s the end of summer here in Argentina).-

Every 15 days he has a bath and once a month I put an anti-flea medication after he comes back from a bath.

Any tips? Is that normal? I know that the groomer doesn’t use an anti-flea shampoo.- That did happen to your OES? How do you prevent of having this and the procedure to cure this?

Thanks,

Besos

hi Danik...don`t start freting over it...
but an idea might be that they are flea marks...
Just a question? what anti-flea do you use....I know some of them like Frontline has to be applied or 3 days before the bath or 3 days after the bath but not at the same time because they wont work...

I use Power and I apply it after he cames back from his bath...

PS.: I like Pisco new picture. What a long legs he has. :P
Where are the circles located? In areas without the brown circles are ther any red circles? How big are the circles. Is there any debris, or dirt-like stuff around them?

Flea powder kills the fleas but not the eggs. If a lot of fleas are about, your dog can still be bitten and have eggs on him, even if all of the adult fleas are dead.

Me again, just tried to brush Shanti but for the first time he doesn't want to be brush... very strange from him. Anyway, I found red circles (actually pink ones) on his belly, and as I touched one to see what was it, Shanti walked away.... Do you have any idea of what can it be? As I can brush him, he is starting to have knotty hair :( !
With your answers I thought for sure it was just fleas. Until you said there were red spots forming.
This could be a fungus. A fungucide is needed. You could try a athletes foot ointment. Or go talk to your local pharmacist.

If you can take him to the vet first, do so. If it is a fungus, like ring worm, it can spread to you. And it spreads fast.
It could be an allergic reaction. You wouldn't want to use the Power Plus Spot (pipette) for a while if that is the case.

I wish I could see the circles. You are going to have to take him to the vet.
Ask your groomer if any other dog owners are having this problem. Fungi can be picked up, like athletes' foot fungus, from a contaminated bath, floor, or utinsels. Allergies also can be caused by shampoos, conditioners, and flea preventatives.
Let a vet have a look. Talk to your groomer. Maybe try some hydrocrtisone cream (good for allergic reactions) on an area like his back, where he cannot lick.
It is good you caught this early. Let me know what you find out.
Hi all!

I just came back from the vet... and I have to tell you that the little brown circules are because of the flea -

and .... the pink ones are .... teats  I can't tell you how embarassed I felt showing the vet those weird circles... I didn't know that males also have teats... :o

Anyway,I have to use to use the Power Plus Spot (pipette) in the right time and right way and this time wait for a longer time to have him a bath....

Thanks for the all the help...!!!v

When you say brown circles, what exactly do they look like? Max has brown circles between his legs (lower abnominal area) on his skin where the hair does not grow, but it looks like his skin. they are approx a dime to a nickel in size. To me it just looks like his skin. What exactly do yours look like?
Danik,
I am so sorry! Trying to treat dogs over the internet never works out like you would think.
I should have asked if the red circles were by the brown ones.
But I am so happy that you were only embarrassed. Yeah, all dogs have teats. Sometimes they get moles that look like teats on their backs. Sometimes they are warts.
It is so hard to tell exactly what someone is talking about, I should have asked a lot more questions.
I have embarrased myself when I asked about Abbi's dew claws when we first got her. I did not know they remove them when they docked their tails. She was the first dog I had without them. She used to chew on their pads when she was a pup, and the vet said maybe they were infected or she had fleas behind them. Turned out she had a thorn behind one of them. Never figured how she managed that. That's when I started trimming around them. I had to learn about the hair in their ear canals the same way ....didn't know it needed to be removed. I also did no tknow the pink on their noses would disappear. The vet had a field day when I asked about her nose! I am so glad I figured out their hair changes color on my own.
So happy to hear Shanti is fine. Guess he's going to get brushed out now whether he wants to or not. You may want to wash his brushes in soap and water and set them on the window sill to dry. It will keep any eggs from hatching. Sort of like having piojos (lice).
