In anxious anticipation...I pick up my foster dog soon

Grannie Annie and I have been back and forth for weeks, but I am now picking up a little untamed girl on Friday nite. I imagine she is not house-trained, and she has been known to have some sassy attitude about her. I will be fostering her to see who she really is, under that tough core, and hope to get the edge off of her. This should be interesting, as Bosley is so laid back, and easy going. Quite a different dog.
First things, first, though. She needs a new name to go with her new life, but I will wait until meeting her. Wish us luck.

Good luck. You might have a few rought days, but I'm sure everything will work out fine. And Bosley will be a good boy. Thank you for fostering this baby.
Good luck! You could name her Sassy!
Nicole,

I am so happy that you were able to work out transportation for this little girl. Things will be fine, she is probably a diamond-in-the-rough.

We have our paws and fingers crossed for you and Bosley.

Brenda
Good luck! Such a wonderful thing for you to do!
The waiting is so hard!! Looking forward to hearing all about this girl! :D
It is Thursday evening, and tomorrow hubby is picking me up after work and we are going directly to the airport. I spoke to the shelter she is at right now and they bathed her yesterday all ready for her trip! They really like her, and say she is a happy, happy girl....with no training at all. I don't know what to expect so I will be armed with a gentle leader, harness, regular collar, leash, bottled water and dish, and 3 kinds of treats. Hopefully we will find out the best way to handle her until we get her home.
I am not sure how long it will take before we get used to a wiggle-butt! Is it a whole hip-thing they do or just the stub, when they have no tail?
And she looks clipped, so that too will take getting used to.
We've spoken to Bosley and he has promised to be on his best behavior
Her name is Little Deb, right now, but I want to change it to something exciting and English..but not a human name. I was thinking of Lavender, but that sounds too soft for a tom-boy...I'll get some vibes once I meet her, I guess. I'm so excited!
Hi,

Sending Best Wishes your way. I love the name Lavender!!
I hope all goes well and soon we'll be cheering every Lavender girl successes!

Many sheepie kisses sent from the boys

Marianne
Nicole,

I am so excited for you. I can hardly wait for you to get her!! and to hear how things are going.

When we brought Murphy home I expected the worse.. 13 months old.. no training.. no manners.. not socialized.. etc. I thought "what have I done". But honestly, he fit in perfectly. It's like he wanted to please right from the get-go, it was like he was grateful to us for getting him out of that situation. Him and Dudley had a few issues at first, but they worked it out.

Lavender will fit in just fine.. before you know it.. her and Bosley will be snuggling together on your bed and you will be sleeping on the couch..it will be like you always had her.

I anxiously await news of her arrival.

It's both hips and if they really get excited, the whole body wiggles. So adorable!! :D

That's a good idea for a name! I like Heather, too. :D
Sometimes Barney's nub just wags (his is about an inch, so pretty long!) but more often it is the nub going back and forth at one speed and the bum and hips going back and forth at another speed, at the same time!
She is tiny 8O I'd say about 45 pounds, if that. We got gentle kisses and nub wags when we met her at the airport, she was quiet in the van on the way home and then met my shelties politely.

Bosley is in LOVE 8O It took all of 2 seconds, and they were off! Tearing around my huge yard like they'd known each other all their lives. We let them run (in the mud) for about 15 minutes, so she could stretch after the hours in the crate. Then they were cleaned off, and she came in. I put her in a large crate, she ate all her supper and is now sleeping away peacefully beside me.

I posted a picture of her looking very sad, and confused, but it hasn't been approved yet.

We're thinking maybe Daphne, or Daffy...not sure yet.....
I am soooooooooo happy things are going well. I can't wait to see the pictures of her. She must think she is in heaven.

Give her kisses from Murphy and tell her he said "there is a pot of gold at the end of a rescue rainbow"

Brenda
