Goldendoodle rescue?

Does anyone know of any goldendoodle rescue groups?

My brother has had a really rough year family-wise and they have a 2 year old goldendoodle that they just can't keep anymore. His name is Max and he's beautiful. They are in Missouri...

Thanks!

That's too bad! A quick google search reveals this place for doodle rescues and rehomes:

http://disc.server.com/Indices/213827.html

they have a database with alot of people in MO wanting a doodle. You have to search the list for MO listings (or scroll page by page):
http://server.com/WebApps/db-view.cgi?db=114694

hope that helps!
Thanks, Val! That is a good looking site. I looked earlier but there were so many choices that it was hard to narrow them down or make sure I was choosing a good one.
It really is a sad situation. They got the dog in August of 2004 and then family issues started in about October of 2004, so they got the dog before anything had happened...
The downside of that site is that they don't screen -- anyone can post a listing -- so you would need to research them personally before turning over a dog. But at least it is something. . .
What about returning the dog to the breeder. If the breeder is at all concerned about what happens to the litter...they should state very clearly in the purchase that the dog be returned. Even if they haven't, it is still possible they will take him back. I made sure each puppy buyer of Remy's litter know I will always take the dog if they have a need to let them go. For the life of that dog, and I will rehome them myself after getting to them all over again.

As a last resort, the dog could go to a no-kill shelter, where it is looked after in a foster home inviroment, instead of a humane shelter. We have many different rescue groups here...it helps to know someone who delt with the group before you turn him over.
I had forgotten about the return to breeder option. I will email them that suggestion. I am pretty sure he came from a good breeder so they should accept him back...

Hey George...wanna doodle? He is in St. Louis...
I live in St. Louis and would love to learn more about your dog. We are looking for a goldendoodle and don't want a puppy. How do I contact you?
Hi, Micki. You can send a private msg to barney1 by clicking the litle PM button under her msg. Hope thing work out!
Hey, Barney1.

What happened to the goldendoodles? Did they find homes?
There was just the one doodle, and they have decided to keep him. He is just a typical 2 year old, who has not had the most structure in his life, so he does puppy things--like eat the leather couch. That appeared to be the last straw and my brother's wife said he had to go. But it seems as though things have calmed down for the moment, so he's still with them, which I hope continues to work out as they really love the dog.
That's nice to hear! I hope they keep him too. He's just a silly pup!
I've been interested in goldendoodles, I've heard that they have amazing temperments and personalities. I wouldn't mind having one, but I'm so far away and you said they've decided to keep him anyway...
Hi,

We have a great golden retriever who is 8 years old and I want to get a golden doodle to keep him company and play. We had another golden that we had to put to rest about 6 months ago and Sam misses Stormy, and we are ready for another big guy for him to play with.

I work out of our home and my dog is sitting behind my chair as I write this.

Have you found a loving home for your guy?

let me know please.

Thanks
Frank

-The Editor.
They are keeping him. All in all a sad family situation (human-wise) but happily the dog is able to stay with them.
I have been looking to rehome a lovely dog like barney! It would be a delight to tell you more about me and our already loved to death doodle. If barney needs a perfect home please contact me at my email address.
In fact I have been looking for a site where we might find a sweet dude to rehome. I prefer to find one that will have an accurate history with it, so we know exactly where and what his life has been like up until.... It will help us make an easier transition. We already own a lovely girl. She is such a lady but needs a little company. please contact me be Email if there is any word of doods in the mid west we live in indiana.
I have a female goldendoodle who is six months old. She seems to be immuno-compromised (she has had giardia and a recurring bladder infection). We love her so much but are considering finding another home for her that can better afford what it might take to get her really healthy.
:(

She might have to take a drug called pheynylpropanolamine (not expensive) daily for the rest of her life for urinary "dribbling."
Interested in rescuing goldendoodle. We are in wisconsin and travel to IL, MO, MA. Is this 2 year doodle still available?
The 2 year old is not available anymore.

There sure are a lot of guests on this topic. Why a goldendoodle? Just curious, have you read about Old English Sheepdogs and how fabulous they are? If anyone is interested, please join the site and learn more about the love and companionship an oes can bring.
Since the dog isn't available anymore, I'm just going to lock this up to avoid future requests.
