Ideas for names

I'm bringing Sheba home sunday, and if everything works out, I'd like to change her name. I just don't care much for the name Sheba. I'd like something celtic and I have a few ideas bouncing around in my head like Phalin and Innish but I would love to hear some suggestions from other people.

How about:
Larry Bird, Robert Parrish, Kevin McHale, John Havlicek, Tommy Heinsohn or Red Auerbach? Oh, wait; you need a female name...

You could always go with Dani Ainge...
Hi. :) .

Here's a website with a list of 2,000 names for you to look at.

Good luck.

Uncle Pete :)
I like Darcy...it could be used for a boy or a girl 8O
I like Moire (Prounounced Moya) she's one of my favorite celtic singers (Moire Brennan, from Clannad... She's Enya's sister!) Enya's pretty too, come to think of it :)
Enya sounds way too calm for a sheepie's name
I like Moya ("exceptional") -- sounds cute and is so apt. I also like Fenella ("of the white shoulders"), Mavis/Mavie ("songbird"); Nola ("famous"); and Morna ("dearly loved" or "tender").

(From that list, it seems that I like the "uh" sound at the end of a name, so why are both my dogs "ee"??)
I like Maura too....But Darcy is Irish 8O

Or look in getting a puppy section (in this forum) for other ideas.
Colleen is Irish too!!! :D

I hear Colleen's are goofy, clown-like, have really bad hair days, and sometimes their "ample" butts wiggle while doing menial tasks like walking, grooming themselves (teeth brushing especially!)...hmmm....sounds alot like a OES doesn't it!
I like the name Sheba. Wasn't there a Disney movie by that name..Come Back Little Sheba or Come Home..something like that?

I especially love the Irish name Siobhan..pronounced Shah von.

Marianne and the boys

Colleen! That was very funny!! :D
A name I love, which is celtic, and means beauty, gentleness and grace, is Caoimhe. It is pronounced Kiva, which sounds closer to Sheba and so the dog might get used to it easier. :)
How's the day going with Sheba? Just my thoughts on this...if Sheba responds to her name, please keep it even if you don't love it. It sounds like she may have gone through some hard times and might be hard to learn a new name since she's older. :D
Good point Stacy--but Sheba doesn't respond to much of anything just yet. I've been calling her wigglebutt because the only even remotely sheepie thing she does is wiggle her butt happily when I ask her if she wants to go outside. She did forget herself for a moment and began to play with Barkley--just for an instant I saw the dog that Sheba could be--the one she was before she was wounded. When Barkley responded to her playfullness, she shut down again. But it was a happy moment--just to to know that its still in there! So I think for now, I'll just call her wigglebutt.
Ohhhh...this makes me happy...hope for Sheba! :D
