Kylie is HOME!

Hi All,
Just wanted to let you know that Kylie is home.
She was full of matt so I had to shave her down.... Took 5 hrs and I am still not done 8O
I posted some pics

Billy wants to change her name to Daisy or Rags

Elissa she is lovely, love the patches on her head, how is she settling in with everyone and how is pepsi and her getting on?.

Choose whatever name you want she is yours now

How old is she?
Hi Lisa,
Kylie just turned 1 yrs old on Dec 14th. She, Pepsi, Peanut & Harley are all sleeping quietly in the living room. Pepsi did harrass her a bit while I was shaving her down. Then they all chased her a bit until she stood up to them. She pooped on the kitchen floor during one of our breaks... that is very understandable. She must be stressed out quite a bit. It was a 3 hr ride home, then a 5 hr shaving session with breaks. She is currently sleeping by her new Daddy...on the floor right under where he is sleeping on the couch. She immediately took to him. I think with Kylie here that it will ease the pain of having to put Harley down a bit.
I think Pepsi is a bit jealous... he thinks she is trying to steal his Mommy....also Pepsi is no longer the baby furkid in the house.
With extra attention from me I am sure he'll get over it. I had to spend the extra time with Kylie today. She was such a mess with her coat.
Been a long long day for all of you by the sounds of it, the long trip home then attacking those matts. :?

My girls ignore me when dad gets home, must be a female thing or they have had enough of me by then

Nice to hear she is sleeping beside her new dad :D

I think Pepsi will be mummys boy and Kylie daddys girl

She is just lovely & best wishes that all goes well settling in with her new family :D
I too think Kylie will be a daddy's girl. Even full of mats, she looks so happy in the pictures. Thank you for giving her a furever.
She does look happy! What a task getting those matts shaved off. :x Uggh!
She's got beautiful coloring and a sweet expression. Sounds like things are going to be okay with the new addition in the household. :D
I posted in the Rescuing a Sheepdog thread before I saw this, so I'll just repeat - CONGRATULATIONS!! :clappurple: I really like the name Kylie! If she answers well to Kylie, it may be hard for her to get used to being called something else. This is why we have never named our dogs - all have been rescues who came with names.

She's such a cutie! I'm REALLY impressed if you shaved her for 5 hours and she basically stood still for it - WOW!

I'm sure Pepsi will get used to her. Can't wait to hear more about her!

Chris
Congratulations. I hope this softens some of the pain you and your mate are experiencing right now.
What a sweetie! She just has that lovable ragamuffin/muppet look to her that I adore! Congrats again! How exciting :)

Karen :)
I think we need a GROUP PICTURE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Awww Kylie is just too cute....Panda is a little jealous, but will survive....more sheepies for the party..yeah!
Thanks Everyone :D
Chris, I don't think it would be a problem to change her name. We changed Harley's name at 1 yr and 1/2 from Apollo. Also she was absolutely wonderful for the grooming, especially since she's never seen clippers before.
Karen, Can you see why we were thinking of naming her Rags?
Darcy, Tell Panda not to be jealous. Pepsi already is acting like Kylie is his sister. Besides Panda now has a girlfriend to hang with.
All in all the trip to 7 hrs to get her and come home 8O I really didn't realize she was in Northern California.
I wanted to let you all know that someone from the SCOESR called the woman and asked if they could place her for them. Michele the owner said she had someone who would be a perfect and owned already owned an OES and if I didn't want her she was going back to the breeder.
The Woman said... " I just want you to know you are killing your dog!"
WHAT!!! Michele the previous owner worked in Great Dane rescue for years. I guess she thought she was properly grooming her. Her top coat was matt free, but the undercoat was horrific as you can see from the pictures.
Ginny, I just uploaded a picture of Pepsi, Kylie & Harley. Peanut didn't want to play  (Still not finished with her haircut)
Paula & Lisa, Kylie woke up her Daddy this morning to go out. I took her out because I was already up. When he woke up I told him she did not come to me. She went to him. He was very pleased and when she woke him, He said Good Morning Baby :D Awww
Awww thats so sweet...now you just need to get a sheepie for ryan and hayley...so everyone has their own......

I don't hear Elissa laughing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
That is sweet! She'll be "at home" with you guys in no time! :D
That was a really bizzare comment from the rescue people.... you'd think they'd be happy she was going to such a great home?? Eh, what do they know! Looks like she was worth the trip- I feel your pain though! I hate road trips!!! Rags is kinda appropriate, she's a Raggedy Ann transmuted into a sheepie!

Karen :)
I think the rescue person was referring to Kylie going back to the breeder when she made the "killing your dog" statement.

I don't think it's right to say things like that, but emotions do run high in this business. Hey, to each their own.
It sounds like the rescue person did not approve of the dog going to an 'unknown' entity. To the rescue, Elissa might be some irresponsible person who claims to own another OES...I can sort of see where they are coming from, but still, to a person giving up a loved dog, what a harsh thing to say...
I LOVE the action SHOT!!!!!!!!!! Harley looks so happy, hard to believe he's sick :( , I hope he can stay so happy for as long as possible!!!! Also, love the block wall, I think that is the first view we have had of it.
Elissa, I'm so happy for you and Billy. Kylie/Daisy?Rags is adorable under her matts :) She'll be right at home in no time. Maybe she'll help Harley hand on for awhile.
I like the name Daisy.
Hooray for Kayli / Daisy / Rags! That is so great. I like the name Daisy, myself. . .

I believe the rescue person was referring to whomever adopted the dog.
Well, whatever. I know she's in a good home with me.

Well it is now official... She is now known as "Rags to Riches" we will call her Rags. I found out some weird info when I called her Vet.
They said she belonged to someone else wayyyy up north. I figured maybe that was the breeders name, but the former owner told me the breeder was from Bakersfield? Well anyhow, they are sending me her file. She is all up to day on her shots. The Vet also said they had a date of birth of 2/04 (The former owner said they used the day they got her as her Birthday... Valentine's Day, but she was 8 weeks then. She had her 3 yr Rabies shot in June so she has to be 2. Being born in 12/03.
Whatever.... I finished up the grooming...FINALLY!!!
She did not like her face being shaved :( I was very proud of her though.
She did wonderfully. I am going to post a picture of the finished product. I am done torturing her....for now

I DON'T THINK SO!!! lol
WELCOME RAGS  :clappurple:
Congrats! Nice seeing the photo of all 3 of them running together - I was a little worried about how Harley would react to a new addition with his illness, but it looks like he's adjusting great!

-VerveUp
Elissa the fence does look great!!!!!!!!! And Rags is a good name, although, for right now, I think she looks like a Rag-a-muffin 8O :D
Awwww she's so cute! You did a great job on her hair cut.... I love her markings :)
Elissa,

I think it's wonderful that you adopted and gave this girl a home. Congrats! Can't wait to hear more adventures from your crew!

Marianne
Her haircut looks so cute, but the look on her face doesn't think so! She's adorable, and perfec tly fits the "Rags" name!
Chris
Thanks Everyone :D We are very happy to have Rags here with is. She is a happy go lucky wonderful dog. From the moment I saw her running through the field towards me with those ears flopping in the wind I knew I could not leave there without her. She is such a lover too.
Rags got a Red rolled leather collar with a red heart shaped tag today.
I want to make sure nobody mistakes her for a boy.
I layed down for a nap and Pepsi climbed on the bed with me I called him so he would move away from my feet and move next to me. Next thing I know Rags jumps up and put her head on my chest. I was covered in head to toe Sheepies and it was wonderful :D I didn't sleep however. No way to get comfortable. lol Pepsi and Rags do the cutest thing. They touch each other. Rags will put one of her paws and Pepsi shoulder while they are standing nose to nose. He does it right back... It's pretty funny to watch. Looks like they are saying... How ya doing?
boy.

Thank you Stacey :D That is a big compliment coming from you about the grooming :D :D
I hate to disappoint you Ginny and Darcy, but that wall is a sidewall by my other neighbors house. One of the two already existing walls. It was covered by a wood fence until very recently though :D
VerveUp, Harley did get a bit nasty with her a couple of times... Mostly ignores her though. She went over to his water bowl to get some water and he stared her down until she walked away. Such a meany. He does not appreciate her energy. In that picture of the three of them he was in the process of chasing her down to bite her 8O No growling from anyone though and no brawls. I bought a bag of Flip Chips, basted with Chicken Flavor. I gave two so far to each dog and Harley keep stealing them. He will chew on it for a while then bury it or hide it in our closet
