New Brunswick and Nova Scotia - 5 Purebred OES Available NOW

Good Morning Listers,

Please read the following if you are interested in adopting and OES AND live in New Brunswick or Nova Scotia...

"The Canadian Capers as I call it, has taken a great deal of time for the NEOESR. Marilyn Isaac alluded to the problem in her email recently to the List. There were upwards of 20 beautiful OES, and as many mostlies...(Some English Springers had some ooops'es) There are still 5 pure bred OES left all needing homes in New Brunswick, Canada. They are beautiful and they need help. Please fill out the NEOESR adoption application if you live in or near New Brunswick or Nova Scotia. These dogs cannot enter the US due to the rabies quarantine for another three weeks. They can, and are being adopted as we speak to Canadians within a reasonable distance. We will put them up on the Petfinder asap.

Fondly, G/A"

G/A is Grannie Annie. She is the Placement Director for New England Old English Sheepdog Rescue. Their on-line adoption application is at www.neoesr.org

I rescued an "oops" from this kennel back in 04..

He has turned out to be the best "oops" I have ever done. (And believe me I know what oopses are.. I have 2 ex-husbands) Wish I had room for another.

I hope these dogs find beautiful, loving homes... they deserve it!!!

In regards to these dogs from NB, I would like to mention that these dogs are incurring considerable expenses, the vet bills are huge with treating for illnesses, parasites, vaccinations, and spaying and neutering.
I think it is absolutely wonderful that NEOESR is helping out this Canadian cause, but I would hope more Canadians would donate, to OESOCC (our own club and rescue) so that NEOESR is not footing the whole bill.
We should take care of our own.
Donations may be sent to Diane Buckland, Secretary/Treasurer of OESOCC, who will ensure it is sent where it is needed.

The pictures and info for 4 of these sweet sheepie-girls is online now... either at http://www.neoesr.org/doghome.htm or on PetFinder at the addresses below.

Gracie- http://www.petfinder.com/pet.cgi?action ... mpl=&stat=

Maxie- http://www.petfinder.com/pet.cgi?action ... mpl=&stat=

Little Deb- http://www.petfinder.com/pet.cgi?action ... mpl=&stat=

Dolly- http://www.petfinder.com/pet.cgi?action ... mpl=&stat=
I am very tempted to take one of these girls in and was especially enamored with Dolly. Not because she was the youngest but her funny jaw gives her such an endearing look.

I would be quite willing to take one in to foster but know me and giving anything that comes into my home up has always been difficult. I live across Canada and wondered if the rescue would be willing to fly or if there is sheepie express in operation. Anyone have any info?

Marianne and the boys
Hi Marianne-
The contact information for Dolly is on the PetFinder page at http://www.petfinder.com/pet.cgi?action ... mpl=&stat= Just send an email to Grannie Annie with NEOESR and complete an application. Annie was great when we adopted Panda and was also there during the settling in phase with lots of helpful suggestions... she's been in rescue for years.

One thing though... the listing says no small children and I see an absolutely adorable little baby in your pics so Dolly might not be a match??

Keep us posted!
I think Dolly is part springer.... the spaniels have that face... the eyes, the more rounded skull.
I think Dolly has aleeady been placed. Check www.neoesr.org for available dogs -- only two of the Canadians are still left.

In order to be considered for any dog through neoesr you must submit an on-line adoption application. If you are not in the New England area Annie will forward your application to the rescue group in your area. You should also go to the national rescue contact list (it includes Canada) on this website or Neoesr's website and directly contact your local rescue group directly.

Hi,

Thanks for the update and yes I did speak to Grannie Annie. Due to the winter weather they will not fly any of the sheepies at this time. I live completely on the other coast. It's easy to forget our neighbors to the West are still in Winter weather.

Good news, Dolly has found a new home! That's the most important thing! I just wanted to offer to help if they were hard pressed to get these girls into homes. Grannie Annie said the only way to possibly get one was to fly to NS but flying across Canada is more expensive than flying to Europe!

Then again, a miracle happened when I got my Panda boy( whom was rescued from a horrible living situation and written about on this forum) as someone was flying from Hong Kong to Vancouver and the price drop for his fare was substantial. Flying alone the cost as "cargo" would have been 2,000, having someone accompany him , he was labled "extra baggage" and the price dropped to 200 dollars. Cathay Pacific airlines (bless their hearts) eventually flew him for free and gave him VIP treatment, boarding him last and letting him off first. He's been with me ever since and that's his sweet face on my avatar.

As for small children my baby days are over, although thanks for the compliment. That sweet baby on my photos is my nephew's little girl. My youngest is 18.

As I said just wanted to offer help if they were hard pressed to get these girls into homes. My oldest dog Blue, is nearing 17 in March and I had previously told myself no more dogs until he passes. Sigh ..although I still have my heart on one day getting an older female.

So cute!!!
I just spoke to Grannie Annie this morning.

Two of the adult dogs still need Canadian forever homes....

With three dogs to place here (one is deaf, one has a tail and one is a senior stray)
OMG..OMG.. the faces.. they are so cute...wonder if Troy would notice one more dog in the house.

I got Murphy when he was 13 months old.. so this is what he looked like as a baby... Holy Crow....I need my head examined for even thinking about it...
Oh gosh, I'd take any of those girls in a heartbeat, senior, deaf, with tail..yup wouldn't make a bit of difference to me as it almost describes my Shaggy girl whom lived to the old age of 15 1/2 and and passed almost 2 years ago. She was originally a stray, became deaf in her old age and had a tail.

I do have my hands full with my three boys at the moment, Merlin, Panda and Blue, but know that I will definately adopt a senior girl when the time is right. Please keep us updated as to what happens to these girls.

It looks like only Little Deb is left!!! :D

How wonderful!!!!! :D
She is the one we are trying to get to Toronto.
Lil Deb arrives on Friday nite. I believe she is the last one.
Did everyone find new homes??

I went looking on Petfinder and the pages were no longer current (could be a good sign!)
