What type of collar do you use?

Fletch uses a collar like this :

I just wanted to see what types of collars people use for their sheepies. Maybe some use the buckle type? Maybe we can figure out what works the best in all of that hair.

Pepsi wears a thin chain chocker.
The links are rounded and very close together so it doesn't really get into the fur too bad.
Mine wear a thin chain collar too, they call it Jewlers link, like a snake chain, does not take any coat out, when they are walking and pulling when training as youngsters, now just a soft web collar, and used a halti too when they were younger and out of control. Love the Haltis 8)
I use a rolled leather collar on the girls. The rolled edges help prevent matting.
I use a different collar for walking them.
Lisa,
Thanks for your description of the chain. That is exactly what Pepsi wears.
You are just better at describing it 8)
Our OES that I had as a kid wore a rolled leather collar.
The two bigger chains in this pic are what I would call jewellers link or snake chain. I use the silver one, 3rd in from the left, for shows. I use a round nylon collar for everyday use.

Here is something like the nylon I use.

i have used alot of different collars the one i like best is the rolled leather when out and about also a halti just love those in the house boo doesnt wear a collar
I use the check chain on both, but am looking for something that does not break the hair. Also what kind is best for use in the ring at obedience trials?
Annie wears a nylon collar with that snap buckle, kind of like a seat belt (only way I can describe it). You pinch the sides and pull to remove. her tags are on this collar.

When we go for walks she also wears the halti which it the BEST :D Thank you to Mr Halti or whomever invented it!
Panda just got a bright red rolled collar for xmas....it does help with the matting better than the nylon one that she had before....we use the good old fashion choke on her for walks.....
Barney has a red nylon collar that is about an inch width and has a buckle closure.
Jasper has this one in blue - couldn't resist after seeing it on the site. ;)

He also has the matching leash and Pet ID tag with the American Flag. That way if he gets lost, our phone number is on his collar & leash, and our info is in their database if they call the number.
Bosley wears no collar unless we are outside. Then he is on a halti or a nylon snap collar, like Annie.

Just noting all the choke collars being used. Ever since I've gone postive these have been completely removed from my house. That and all the damaged tracheas that have resulted in their use. There was some research done that autopsies were done on dogs with choke collars and something like 90% of them had have some kind of damage to thier throat area.

For a collar that won't slip I use a kind called a greyhound or a martindale collar that will tighten but only to a set point, but not choke or put excess pressure on the treachea.
Pooh too wears the "check" collar for walks and a nylon buckle collar when we are out. I do not leave a collar on him at home because he has a tendency to get part of the collar in his mouth. It gets stuck. We have no idea how he does this, but it sure looks like it would be painful! So, no collar at home!
dougal only ever wears a harness he does not pull, nothing to pull him around his neck. can also fit seatbelt through when travelling so he is safe
Sasha has a no tug halter for walks, and no collar in the house. I started with the clip (seatbelt kind) and they all broke when she would pull on the leash. I put a choker on her until she pulled too hard trying to run, and choked herself into a coughing fit.
I avoid a collar at all times possible with the exception of on lead. He has so much hair it's a pain to even put it on him for those short times not to mention the immediate matts-- how do they get there so fast?
