G'day from an Aussie

Hi everyone, I'm Jean and Sammy's Mum :D :D :D
I never know what to put in these intros   so I hope the following is OK

I live in NSW about half way between Sydney and Melbourne in a little country town (we moved here 4 years ago to get away from the city). I'm involved with Wildcare which is a wildlife rescue organisation caring for australian native birds and animals, I also do some volunteer work with the elder in our town. I still have 3 children at home the eldest being 16 and is looking at working with animals as a career.
Sammy is my second OES, my first was a rescue dog aged about 2 when we got him named Rocky. Unfortunately due to circumstances when we move we was unable to bring him with us and I still miss him terribly. Sammy was 10 weeks old when he arrived by plane at Armidale airport and the first thing I remember when I saw them unload his travel crate was the size of his paws   they were huge   , he has managed to grow into them now (he is 8 months old now) and boy did the tail he has take some getting used to   . Sammy lives inside with us and goes everywhere with me when possible, he loves the car and gets excited when we are going somewhere. Of a morning he makes it his job to wake everyone up if they have slept in and of a night he goes around everyone to give them kisses good night :D :D He loves playing soccer with the kids which is good as I'm secretary of the district soccer association and my sons play soccer.
The first OES I ever saw was a puppy a friend of mine got when I was young and I've loved them ever since, I've had a still have a Rottie and we recently lost our English Cocker Spaniel (she was 15). If you believe in fate then Sammy was meant to be with us, from when I started looking for a dog/puppy it was 2 weeks until he arrived :D :D now I've ordered another puppy for us which we won't get until mid this year. I haven't decided if I want to show Sammy or breed, my kids seem to think it would be fun.
I will post some pics soon
Jean

Thanks for the wonderful welcome :D :D :D :D

There is soooo much information here I'm still trying to get through it all.
Welcome aboard. You mention showing and breeding Sammy, how about obedience? The kids could get involved and you'd have a well trained dog to boot! (I'm not sure about the kids......they are harder)

We have a Rottie that is doing obedience training so we are using the same techniques with Sammy to train him at home, not sure if there is obedience trials (I think that's what they are called here) around this area.
Maybe I should look into obedience for the kids   it's school holidays here and I'm ready for them to start the school year but 2 weeks to go yet and I hope it goes quick
