YAY!!! I shaved Pepsi for the first time by myself

Well it took about two hours...with breaks. I am not technically done.
I need to fix his face a little and the top of his paws. Otherwise for my first time, I think I did wonderfully. I used a #5 all over including his face and trimmed him head...So the top of his head is not as short.
He is so excited about being short again that he has been zooming around the yard at 100 mph. lol
I have used the clippers on Peanut, but this is the first time I used them on Pepsi. We have been growing out his hair since July to see how long it would get. Pepsi decided that he does not enjoy having a full coat. He constantly licks and chews and bites at his fur when it's long and only when it's long. He acts like it make him itchy.
He's been smiling since I removed all that hair.
It's 79 degrees here today. I bet he's really loving it.
Peanut also seems to really like Pepsi's haircut. He is trying to hump him 8O

He was almost done. He was given a break to run around in mounds of sand to get filthy.... Bath tomorrow
Oooh! He looks smooth! WIth a wild mop on his head. Total ladykiller!
He is smooth 8)
I couldn't get the red eye out...too much red I guess.
He looks Evil!! He did scratch me and nip at me a couple of times. I hope it gets easier.
He's silky smooth!!!!!!!!!!!!!

"I couldn't handle doing this everday 8O My back is killing me!!"

Ok!
You deserve a spa day

(Pepsi's picking up the tab!!! :D)
Oh Zahra,
I really, really do deserve a spa day....I saved $100 by doing it myself 8) I should take that $100 and enjoy some spa time, but I don't have a babysitter and Hayley is a Mama's girl and gets mad when I leave her anywhere. :(
You did a good job on Pepsi, Elissa! Take a least an hour for yourself and get a massage! :D
Pepsi looks great, Elissa! Congrats on your first try at shaving!

Drez looks pretty much the same as Pepsi right now. Even though it's winter, she minds a long coat in a heated house, so off it came! Now she's happy as a clam!!

As you've found out, when the hair goes, the energy returns!! Have fun!

Chris
Good job. Yes, it is a back killer. Funny you mentioning Pepsi biting and chewing his fur, Jack has chewed off his hair half way down his back legs. Figured he was making a path to more private areas. I bet my big boy would appreciate a hair cut, I'll send him out. What is shipping charges of a 115 lbs OES?
Go Elissa....welcome to the backbreak club :D he looks great...panda likes the duran duran look 8O

Great suggestion from Beaureguards Mom!

If you can't get to the spa----

Massage therapists make house calls!!!! :)

Enjoy!
He looks great!
Thanks Tammy, Chris, Darcy and Panda, SheepieBoss & Gail :D
SheepieBoss, I don't know about the shipping, probably really expensive.
But I promise I'll do a good job :D
Zahra, GREAT IDEA!!!
You did great with the clippers, he looks good. Last time I tried clippers many years ago I gave the dog clipper burn  I know there is definately an art to it!!I am just hopeless with them
Lisa,
My niece showed me the basics of using the clippers.
Once you've got the basics it's pretty easy. No clipper burn with these...though Pepsi did bite at the clippers once and I think cut his lip in the process
Oh and I forgot to post a pre haircut photo so here it is....
He looked so nice with his coat long.... Too bad he didn't think so
Image
He looks sleek, like a race dog :)
He looks cute with the wild mop cut. Leave it like it is and proclaim yourself done!

Nice work. 8)
Great job! Pepsi looks very handsome !!
Great job Ellissa!!! Wanna come over to MN and give me a lesson??? How long is the hair on his head now? You used a clipper on that too, right? Did you just set the guard at a specific height?

Nosy Karen :)
Thanks Everyone :D
Karen The hair on his head is about 1 3/4 inches.
I scissor cut the top of his head. From looking at him can you tell I am used to grooming the Poodle.... lol It is a rounded cut. Not like you can tell in the other pictures.
He is done...except for some hairs here and there on his feet.
He is so happy to be short again. Thank God he's short. He's been rolling in the sand in the backyard 8O He just loves the way it feels.
Also he is sooooo soft
WOOHOO!!!! Great Job!!!
Thanks Ginny :D
