Holy Cow Batgirl - a well behaved sheepdog for the groomer?

I don't mean to beat a dead horse, but I took Boo into the groomers at 8:00 this morning; I told her that he'd probably be a little better but he'd still hate the dryer.

Then I headed to work, thinking I had lots of time. The roads were terrible, I'm having a hard time getting stuff to balance and I'm finally starting to make headway on the one thing I need to finish today.

She just called and said he was ready - and hour before what she thought the earliest time would be - and that he was well behaved!!

Naturally, I asked if she was talking about Bentley and she laughed and said he was a very good boy.

Well, we knew he was making progress, but I must say I'm in total shock and am just sitting here at my desk with my chin hanging open.

Bravo for Bentley!!!

Now, how am I supposed to concentrate on this stupid report I need to get done today??

Who cares about a report... reports come and go...

Yay Bentley!
YAY BENTLEY!
What a good boy you are :clappurple:
Yay Bentley!
I wouldn't be able to concentrate either, I'd just want to go get him and give him hugs and see how he turned out! LOL
Forget the report. It's the weekend! :clappurple:
I transferred the files and brought it home to work on. I'll be in again tomorrow working on other year-end stuff, so this has to get done.

I got to the groomers thinking they were talking about another Bentley, but no, it was my Bentley they were talking about! He looks awesome and they said once he had his bath he settled right down except for the dryer.

We went to the pet store afterwards and I even took him in with me, something I never dared to do before. He was great!

I am so proud of him I could cry. Well, I did cry actually. He is not the obnoxious brat from a few months ago, he's becoming a fun, nice, loveable sheepie who I can't wait to get home to!

Next we work on the farting. :)
Great news, Jil! Makes you feel like it was money well spent for the trainer! All he needed was some guidance and love - and you've given him both in huge amounts! What a great ending!!
Chris
I think that I would like to see some pictures of this grooming. Did you she like how we "trimmed" his neck? ;)

It's so nice to hear every new step of how well he's doing. Pretty soon we'll stop hearing about all these advances-- not because he isn't doing great, but you'll be so used to it, you won't even think twice about it!
She didn't say a word about the neck and I didn't mention it.

He actually doesn't look a whole lot different, just a little whiter and poofier and trimmed in the appropriate areas..

He's been snoozing all afternoons and I see some of the poofieness is starting to fade away.

He does smell really good though!

You're right, one of these days it won't be a bit deal at all.

Hey - I was watching his face yesterday and I recognized that you were right - that frantic look is gone. All I see is a goofy face looking for the toilet paper and Clyde.
I know! He looks at you now. While we're on the subject, I also wanted to mention that when you guys were here, he had a different look when he looked at you, a little like how Clyde looks at me. I noticed when you guys were on the couch together and I mentioned it to James later. It was a very subtle, I love you, Mom look, but I think he just didn't want to appear to be a mama's boy in front of Clyde. Clyde, of course, has no shame about being a mama's boy... :)
Oh that is amazing. Every little bit of progress is so wonderful and this is huge. Hooray for Bentley! Hooray for Jil. I know what you mean about the look in the eye. Chummie just gazes lovingly but when I got Maggie, she studiously avoided all eye contact. Then she started to look, but with a firm, cold, steady gaze. She is just barely starting to soften up and it very encouraging.

I am so glad that all of your efforts with Bentley are paying off. He is so lucky to have you and soon you will be so lucky to have him.

Well, now I'm just floating on a cloud!

He's looked up at me during walkies sometimes and I thought it was an "I love you Mom" look, but seeing as it was Bentley, it could have been anything, LOL.

Hmmm, he doesn't bark at me to hurry up anymore when I'm feeding them either.

What kills me lately is that when I hit the snooze on the alarm, he cuddles up to me. I don't think he does it during the night, only after the alarm goes off. I'm only allowed to hit the snooze three (3) times though. After that, the Bentley Alarm goes off and it's louder than the alarm clock.
 :bulb:  :bulb: I think it all clicked for Bentley :D
Really happy for you and Bentley! Now, can you teach Beau not to jump on me when I get home from work?
Karen, I followed the 5 minute rule for that one. No one gets any of my attention for 5 minutes after I get home. By that time, Boo wasn't jumpy anymore.
OK Jil, I'll try that one.
Big (((hugs))) to Bentley for being such a good boy!! Congrats, Jil! I know it feels like heaven when they settle down and behave!
