Just joined in Maryland

Hello there. I just joined the forum after I received an email from Ron the webmaster alerting me to its existence. My partner and I recently (a little over a month ago) adopted a rescue sheepie through the New England OES Rescue. His name is Blue and he's about a year and a half. In other words, one giant, clumsy, sweet puppy. The first few weeks of adjustment were a little rough. I had an OES years ago but he was also a rescue and much older, hence calmer. Blue is just a bundle of energy. LOL

Unlike most sheepies, Blue has a tail, and he was so matted when we got him that he had to be clipped very short. We can't wait for his coat to grow out, even though he's really cute even with his buzz cut. I don't know how to post images or, trust me, I would.

The last couple weeks, I guess he's feeling more secure because he's calmed down a lot. Maybe the neutering helped too. :D We started obedience training last night and boy was that an experience. The instructor quickly labeled Blue the ADHD puppy. He was the class clown.

Eventually, we'd like to get another OES to keep Blue company, but for now, he's an only child. My partner Jon and I live on the Eastern Shore of Maryland, and in case you can't tell by now, I'm a writer.

I look forward to participating in more of the discussions as time allows, and getting to know everyone here.

Thanks, Ron, for the invite!
Josh

I'm looking forward to reading more, um.... 'tails' about Blue! :D
Welcome to the forum Josh and Blue,
You will find some magnificent reading here as well as fantastic advice. Be warned, as I was, this forum is very addictive and one can spend hours reading the stories of sheepies and other four-legged family members and looking at wonderful pictures. Look forward to seeing pics of Blue! :D :D :D
Welcome Josh & Blue, look forward to hearing about your boy and enjoy the forum, there a great bunch of people. Can't wait to see a pic of blue :D

Lisa and the girls donwunder, Kelsey and Brie
Blue sounds quite normal. Young OES boys gave me extra gray hairs in rescue. OES owners need a good sense of humor.......they rank right up there with young lab owners. Take all their actions in good humor.

Fortunately a sheepie will carry their tail down unless excited......which having a young dog means most of the time. But it will drop out of the way when they are calm.

Welcome, can't wait to hear about the class clown!
Hi Josh!!! Hope you and Blue find this place as addictive as the rest of us!! Just a heads up....we like pictures..lots and lots of pictures!!
:D Hi Josh and welcome from the Philadelphia suburbs. :D

Welcome to the forum. I just joined recently and it is wonderful! I am in harford Co Maryland but go to the eastern shore a couple of times a year. We have a rescue sheepie too. Thank goodness for kongs and peanut butter!!
Welcome!

I am pretty new to the forum, too!

I have new son named Josh and a new OES named Benjamin BLUE, who we often just call Blue.....interesting.....:-)

Like I said I haven't been with the forum long, but it truly is interesting and full of useful information and great people!
Hi and Welcome!

I'm a bit late with my greetings so apologies for that. I often look at the NEOES website and remember being enamored with Blue, he has such a sweet face. Then again, don't all sheepies?

I'm Marianne, mom to two upright boys, 3 dogs, 4 cats, 1 rabbit and a guinea pig. As a result I often write about my experiences with my "boys" one of whom is named Blue. Merlin and Panda are the sheepies and Blue is a BlueHeeler/Lab ,who is a sheepie wannabee I suspect as he's lived with them most of his life. First with Shaggy my female whom passed away at age 15 and now with his hairy brothers.

Don't give up hope regarding posting photos, I was on here for about 2 years before I figured out who to post my own pics!

Can't wait to hear about Blue's adventures in your family and so happy to hear you adopted him!
