Public Service Announcement

Jil just groomed a relatively calm Bentley who was lying on the floor; very little biting was involved although there was some squirming.

A total contradiction from prior daily grooming efforts, where hand-feeding dinner was required, no edible substances of any kind (fur does NOT count) were present.

Through her tears of joy, she wishes to thank Jim the behaviorist, Jill & James for their help yesterday and Kayli Marie for stepping in when Boo started getting annoyed.

Jil's tools were the Resco #80 comb and a Hindes pin brush.

Upon further testing, a direct correlation is found between table dancing and grooming manners.

Be advised that from this point forward, all sheepdogs should be allowed time to dance on the kitchen table prior to grooming as this will greatly affect the ratio of amount hair brushed to bites sustained. Unknown if length of table dancing time is in proportion to length of grooming. Further studies will produce more conclusive results.

We did it again!!

It's interesting that when he started squirming, Kayli came over and stood there and Bentley stopped squirming.

Later, he came when I whistled for Floof with the "come now and you get treats" whistle!

Life is good. :D
How great is this!! The training is working beautifully!! Congrats!

Tell Kayli to keep that dopey brother in line 8)
Thanks everyone! I feel like shouting to the world, I'm so happy about this!

Last night we had TWO grooming sessions and I'm now able to wipe his front paws with no problem. The back paws are still a minor problem, but we're getting there.

I think he does like it, but doesn't want to admit it!

Kayli really is helping with the process. It's very difficult not to laugh at the serious look on her face when she's in Sheepie Management mode. 8)
This is great!!
