WE ARE HOME!

We had a very long ride, and the kiddos did really well for being only 5 and 2.
I was the one whocould not sit still, I was sooooooo anxious.
On saturday we arrived at the kennel around 9:30 a.m. they said he was being groomed, and would be done in a few minutes. We sat impatiently waiting. Meanwhile the kennel got extremely busy, there is a grooming shop/obedience school.and boarding kennel run there. around 10:15 they brought our boy cooper in,and boy was he HANDSOME. he came right up and kissed us. I was immedaitley in love.
We stayed until about 11:45 taking care of things, and we were on our way.
He sat like an angel for the 9 hour trip home. night time has been a little rough. he wants to be right next to me, but we are working on it.
He is a big ball of love and fun. I am so happy with him.
the one thing I noticed is he seems to take several cat naps. wehrever I am he lays down and naps...is this unusual for a 13 month old?
My favorite thing about him is the way he HOPS around when he is palying.
I will post pictures int he picture area!

Nice one Sleepymom,

I have seen the photo of Cooper, and he is a cutie. Yup, its not unusual for Cooper to take the odd catnap so dont worry too much about him, im sure he will be fine. It was also probably very draining for him as well and he will take a few days to settle in.
He will want to be with you for as long as he can untill he gets his independance back (i take it he is re-homed) so he will sleep where he is most comfortable, and that would be with the person he is bonding too....and that means you :D

As for the hops....ummmm the *leapy sheepie* syndrome. I think we all have one of those

Congratulations and have some fun with him.

Regards from over the pond, give him a kiss from us on that big black wet nose.

xx
that's an OES at any age. Cooper looks wonderful. Congragtulations and good luck. We rescued a 1-1/2 year old OES in November. It took Maggie a little over a month to feel comfortable and get into a routine, she even nipped my husband on Christmas Day (we were trying to get her outside for company). Maggie has since figured out she is safe and has become a velcro dog. Since we work she stays outside during the day in a covered patio with a doggie door. She loves her bed and the dirt hole she dug. We just love her. Cooper will probably feel comfortable very soon. Take care.
YES! THE SHEEPY HOP! I hope Nelson keeps his hop for years and years to come.

Whenever we board Nelson with his trainer, the nicest lady in the world! Although she may be a little tooooo obsessive with dogs (is that possible?) She always takes him to her classes and uses him as the demo dog, when they play everyone loves to watch him hoppity hop hop all around the room! Am I bragging too much here?

Oh well, can't help it! I have the OES love bug....

alex
