RESCUE NEEDED: 4 yr female OES in Ohio

There's an adorable 4 yr old female OES in Marysville, Ohio named Mary Joe. Can anyone possibly get over there to spring her out of the Union Shelter? I have also left a msg for Grace at Chicagoland OES rescue. If someone can get her near Chicago, we can probably pick her up. I hope to take care of her if Annie isn't too bad with the idea.

I spoke with Rachel at the shelter who said that the woman who turned her in was very heartbroken. She needs to move into ther dying father's apartment and couldn't take Mary Joe. Apparently the woman sat down in the parking lot crying as she couldn't drive away for a long time. Mary Joe isn't spayed due to infertility caused by drugs to treat parvo as a puppy. She is only about 53 lbs and has an adorable face. Supposedly good with kids, cats and dogs. Typical playful OES. Can anyone help??? I know this isn't a great time of year but maybe this poor pooch can find a home soon. XOXOXO

What a pretty girl with beautiful coloring! I hope this works out. She looks really lovely. Can the shelter hold on to her while you get help with logistics?
Stacy,

She is such a pretty girl :D Where exactly in Ohio is Maryville, and where near Chicago does she need to be taken to? What timeframe are you looking at?
Hi. Thank you all for reading and offers of assistance. A volunteer working specifically on behalf of one of the rescue associations must be the one to pick up Molly Joe. If that is you, would you consider us for a home? Apparently the shelter received a call from Sharon who lives in Cleveland and working on behalf of someone in NY. Sharon, I'm not sure who you are, but would you contact me???
I hope you get her Stacy :D That would be a great New Years gift

Stacy,

I'm crossing my fingers for you and this beautiful girl. Please keep us posted and I hope to hear a happy ending. We'll be thinking of you!

Stacy "Mary Joe" is just gorgeous, keeping fingers crossed for you.
According to MapQuest, Marysville is northeast of Columbus, but that's MapQuest, LOL!
Thank you all for your kind words and offers of assistance. I heard from a few people in the rescue arena via phone today. There sounds like there's a wonderful family in Michigan who will be able to drive to the shelter to see Molly Joe this weekend. They have another female OES (a relative of Annie's!) & the wife supposedly does dog therapy. Their kids are grown. So, although we won't be the ones who'll likely take in Molly, it sounds like she will be going to a good home. If something happens otherwise, I will get a call. I am happy that I was able to assist Molly in finding a good home!
I hope it all works out for her, she is adorable :)
Just read your notice about Mary (Molly?) Joe. I had a sheepdog many years ago (when I was in my 20's) and miss the breed terribly. My husband and I are now in our early 50's and I work out of our home. We live in Royal Oak, Michigan with our dog Jazzy. Five years ago, my husband and I rescued her (a Basenji mix puppy) from the dog pound and she has been a joy to our family. But I still miss having a sheepdog. Jazzy is good with other dogs, not too dominate. But I sense she misses the company of another dog. We had a stray dog, a Golden Retriever, stay with us for a while last year and the two played very well together. We have a good sized yard that is completely fenced. If you haven't found someone to rescue Mary Joe yet, please let me know.

Thanks! Sandy
Hi, Everyone. Just received an email from Geri House in Michigan. Molly Joe has been adopted on Friday by a couple who lives in Michigan. They drove to Ohio to pick her up. They have one of Geri's girls who needed a friend. Report from Geri, is they are playing & getting a long well. Another happy ending for this happy new year!!! :D
That's great news Stacy!! Although sorry it didn't work out for you.

Sandy, the best place to get a rescue that would be a fit for your family is to check with New England Old English Sheepdog Rescue (NEOES). I'm unsure where you live but they can put you in touch with the closest one in your area. Best of luck to you. Keep checking this forum too as we often hear of many that need homes.

Welcome Sandy! You can contact Geri at houserex@mich.com. She is in Metamora which is not far from Royal Oak. I agree with Marianne, check back here often, our members are from everywhere and are always willing to list an OES needing a home.
Oh silly me!

Dunno why I wrote what I did as you mentioned the area you were from in your post.

<<Makes note to self...don't type anything when you are super tired.

Mary Jo was already adopted by a couple from MI.
