Hello everybody!

There are about 25 members of forum.oes.org who had included a Yahoo Messenger ID in their profile, and I have added each of them to a group, so that we can play around with another form of communication.

If you'd like to be removed from the list, please send a quick email to [edited out] and I'll remove you right away.

I hope that we can have online chats through this or another instant messenger program in the near future!
Hope everyone is well...
-Ron, webmaster,

A few people have asked for a live chat here at the forum, and I've looked into that a couple of times. I even set one up here and played around with it a little bit, but it just can't compare to what's already out there, like Yahoo Instant Messenger (hereafter referred to as "YIM"), or MSN's messenger, or AOL's "AIM" instant messenger.

So, since I'm really REALLY REALLY aggravated at AOL at the moment, I thought I'd try this out with YIM.

If you have a Yahoo ID and YIM, and if you'd like to join or leave this group, drop me an email or PM me through the forum and I'll adjust the group as appropriate.

I'm also agreeable as to how or when we should try a big group chat. Post a reply here and then I'll set up a poll to try to figure out what day(s) and time(s) work out best for the group. Remember, we have members in lots of different time zones.

Technology marches on and gives us many ways to build our Old English Sheepdog community.
Whataya say...Shall we give it a whirl?

Sure...loved to!!!
just let me know at what time and when...we`ll be there (Pisco and I)
Vero.
Sounds like fun. I had to dump YIM when I networked my computers. But I can download another copy. Due to family illness I will not be able to chat until next week.
Since Vero is in Peru, I am in TX, Ron's up NE ... I guess the time would have to be in the evening?
I will check back and see when others suggest.
The evening for who ? (Wiggles eyebrows)
I am in the same time zone as agingright and evening is also great for me.
LOL.....Mikey....our evening is your dawn ;)
I know beacause I have friends in Holland and Spain and we talk at very strange hours...me breakfast them lunch. or vice versa(6 hrs difference)
but for me it`s OK any time zone...I work from home usually and can spend some time chatting any time of day or night (a cup of coffee and Pisco by my legs)
Hey wouldn`t it be great to have web cams too...so we can see each other and our sheepies :D
Ok, so evening was a dumb thing to say. I have this head cold and am brain handicapped at the moment.
What we need is a World Time Zone Map and a better communicator than I.

I now can see why we all love this forum. It sort of equalizes the distance between us not only physically, but time-wise.
Good luck setting up a conference Ron
maybe it could be set up in the morning or afternoon.for us..so Mikeyg and the rest of the UKs can be at their afternoon or evening....
A live chat would be great, count us in!
I thought to check...remind you guys about this....
I really hope ìt`s possible....
As Vero knows I did get a get copy of Yahoo IM up and running.

but my life is rather hectic lately. Still, if anyone wants to see if I am online and up for a chat, I will keep Yahoo IM on while I am online.
Maybe we can figure out a conference date after a few private chats?

Vero and I chatted at around 10 PM on the weekend, US CST. Another good time for me is early afternoon(1-3 PM) and late at night(10 - 1 AM) during the week (CST in the US).
Maybe we can just sort of "bump" into each other until a date can be set?
Yep...I second that idea...
My daughter enjoyed chatting with you tonight. I was sitting downstairs with sick hubby and reading a book as fast as I could. My youngest has decided that I need to log all of our computers on next time, but I am having trouble with my router ... guess I should find the time to fix the problem.
Hope you have a good weekend!
I enjoyed it too....
is your hubby feeling better?...hope so.
Abbi was lying on the floor next to him the whole time too. And yes, he is much better. Seems to still have a cough and gets tired easily, but he is much better. The girls love chatting. Maybe tonight again?
CHAT CHAT......loved to "voice chat "with you guys -Ron and Aginright....imagine the whole forum at it....LOl.....
Ron....I promise to get a new mic....and getting Pisco to be more talketive...he just stared at the computer and ran for the door everytime.
I wanna chat with you too!!! :) I have to download the MSM or Yahoo, but every time I do it, I get viruses... so I took it out from the computer.

Because of that, I don't have mic or webcam - well... yet, but it will be so fun to join you!

Yahoo or MSM... Which one do you think is better?

besos
dani
We were using YM. But when we used vocal it took up lots of memory and kept closing my browser down. It also interfers with some other programs. I cannot use the MSM one because it messed up my computers configuration last time .....
When you download Yahoo make sure to choose all the set up options so that it can not run unless you manually choose to have it on and it will help eliminate some of the conflicts with other programs.
If you can get a copy of virus software, most protect you while you are chatting too. There's several free ones, but I use the basic Norton one and it does it too, and gives free updates for a year.
I will see if I can find the website that was telling where to get the free software ....
We would love to chat with you too!
