Barney's getting hefty!

My husband jsut got back from taking Barney to the vet for some annual shots and they weighed him (he hasn't been weighed since he was neutered in May!)...

Any guesses as to how much our boy weighs???

80 pounds!

He's getting do big! Does the vet think that's okay for his frame or does he want him to lose weight?
They didn't say anything about his weight, too bog or small or anything. Right now since he's so fluffy it's a little hard to tell what he's like under his coat, but I think he's okay. I can still feel his ribs (if I try!) and there is still shape to him. His chest is now getting pretty big and wide, so I think he's just growing along like a good ol' pup. I think he should be about done, though, since he is 15 1/2 months old...

They also suggested changing his food because he constantly licks/chews his paws and they said that could be food allergies (of course we went to Costco YESTERDAY to buy a giant new bag of food for him  )...
I guess 95 lbs

Barney will keep that in mind when deciding whether or not to have seconds at dinner!

And, he'd like to tell everyone that he thinks he's big boned.
He and Clyde are the same size now. Clyde got taller and dropped a few pounds from all the exercise at the dog park and he's down to just over 80 pounds according to the vet's scale. Now that he's taller, he actually looks pretty thin especially since we had his coat thinned considerably too!
Gosh......I must have two monstors......Max weighs 125 pounds and Stella Blue weighs 105.....both fit as fiddles.
Unfortunately, they are both lap dogs
Barney is a big boy, with chunky bones, so he will weigh heavier. As long as you can feel his withers, hips and just a slight covering over the ribs then he is OK. Hard to compare same sized dogs weight wise as some have bigger/chunkier boning then others of the same height. :)
