I got the 5mth female

Well turns out the first lady didn't want her, apparantly suprised at how big OES are. So I got the phone call this morning with my chance to take her. She was very friendly, did knock down my son (3) but it was fine. She was very well groomed, except I have a question about the ears, should they have hair inside them. It's brown and does have an odor. The lady was a pet store groomer, so I assumed it was normal, but I'd like everyone's input.
The kids and I took her to the pet store, she greeted everyone very nicely. I had to knee her only once to teach the off comand, and she hasn't jumped on me again. It's what I learned through obedience with the boxer. She is thrilled to have the kids come around. I don't think she's ever been left alone. I was outside in my front yard cleaning ice off the driveway, and she was in the backyard, and wouldn't stop whining and barking. I'm sure this will stop, once she gets use to the idea it's okay to be alone. She could still hear me.
She sure is pretty, one blue eye and one brown. I wish she had the black eyes, instead I've got pink ones. She hasn't met the cats yet, my male cat isn't very happy with me today. I usually can't get him off my lap, today nowhere around.
The dog's name is MacKenzie, I might keep Kenzie as her name. I'm still thinking of others. She needs to learn alot of manners, I really want to go through obedience with her.
Thanks for the help.

congrats!

and the pink around her eyes will turn black as she gets older.
You might want to get her ear checked out. OES's are prone to ear infection. Sounds like she may have one as the odor is usually a good sign. Does the skin inside the ear seem really pink/red kind of like it's irritated? Is the brown that you see a lot of wax brought on by the infection?
Yes it's pretty red and she scratching at it all the time. Today we sat down and I plucked alot of hair out, as long as she could take it. It seemed to help alot. Then i took a wipe with hydrogen peroxide on it an wiped down the ear, it came off brown. She hasn't been scratching at tonight. I will try and get more tommorrow. The smell has certainly gone down too. I had clean around her backend too, a couple pieces of poo stuck in there. You couldn't see it to look at her. I also trimmed around where she pees, so she won't pee on herself. She handled it all very well.

Right now she is desperately trying to make friends with the cat. It's not going to happen. He hates dogs, esp the kind who want to make friends. I have two cats, both grey, one grey and white. We have a matching family.
Good luck with her. Definitely sounds like ear infection. You may want your vet to prescribe ear drops. My sheepdog would occasionally get an infection every few years or so. It does seem that cleaning the ears regularly does really help keep them down though.
