Gotta brag....

I'm very happy! I started a photography class at our local college, and now I got invited to display my photos this week at one of the local public hospitals

We got them mounted yesterday and they will be on display the whole week. You can check them out at http://saulmr.blogspot.com/

What do you think?

Saul, they're wonderful!!

I love the shot of Conchita, what an expressive face. I love the why the light & shadow go across Danita's face. El Negro is certainly photogenic! His expressions are very pensive!

Excellent work!
Congratulations on your photography display at the hospital.

Love your work! Love the picture of Danita ( wondering
what the dogs were up too when you were out having dinner.)
Beautiful portrait shot of Danita.

Very nice shots of the sheepies!

Love your candid shots of friends and family.

Very moving picture of a homeless gentleman.

Very talented work, wonderful. Artistic talent just flows through
your family!

If this is your first photography class, you need to keep us
updated as you go along in advanced classes! (Baby pictures included!)

Thanks for sharing!
those are so great!!!!! what a eye you have for good pics. loved them all
Wow those are stunning! You are amazing in both color and black and white; portrait and still life. Those are really gorgeous. Two artists in one family!! Looks like you have a very full life. Congrats on your recognition. I imagine it is just the beginning of what you will accomplish.
The photos are just lovely, congratulations on getting them exhibited. Love photography in black and white brings out so much more depth in the images. :D Keep up the lovely photography and look forward to seeing more of your wonderful photographs.
What phenomenal pictures, Saul! You really do know how to capture a shot at just the right moment.

Conchita's story broke my heart, as did the pictures of the stray dogs. But isn't that what a true artist does - draws their audience into the subjects?

Bravo!

Chris
Really enjoyed looking at the photoes. I would probably never thought some of those objects in the pictures would make good photoes, but in your hands they tell a story. Very artistic. You are very talented.Thank you for sharing them and congratulations on your exibit at the hospital.

Hi Saulmr,

Wow that baby of yours and Danita's is going to have some creative genes!!
Both of you are blessed with incredible artistic talent! Absolutely beautiful work.

How is Danita feeling these days? When is the expected due date?

<<inquiring minds want to know.

Saul your work is outstanding!! I am drawn to the pictures of street life, people and of course, the dogs. The pictures of Conchita, the coffee children and Oscar's son are my favorites.

The way you've captured the essence of Conchita is truly art. Her facial expression...I could just hear her telling you her story. Brought to mind the lines of a Wille Nelson song..."this face is all I have, worn and lived in, the lines beneath my eyes are like old friends..."

The photo of the coffee children could be transported into any country, any century, and tell the same story.

Oscar's son has such expression in his face. It's a mixture of "don't mess with me" and "please give me a home"....just what you would expect from a life on the streets...not sure who to trust....but wanting to trust just the same.

Congratulations on your exhibit! Well deserved!! Can't wait to see more pics!
Wow, Saul...those are all so amazing. Thank you for showing me pictures of a place I've never been and the people and animals that call it their home. I love that picture of your niece ready for her birthday party...
congrats saul! i loved all the pictures, you definitely have an eye for good composition!
What great pictures! What an amzing glimpse into another culture and life!!! Just amazing how foreign it all seems and yet it really is just a stones throw away. The old women is the most moving.......... such a story in the lines of her face, such sadness.
Wow Saul, your shots are very captivating....you should be proud!
they're so wonderful Saul! I felt as if I was looking at a National Geographic magazine on some of those shots. so cool! I wish I had half of your talent (I can barely get my camera on the proper focus as demonstrated by my fuzzy Iris shot...)

Karen :)
Wow, simply beautiful shots...thank you for sharing with us.
I agree you and Danita are both very artistic and talented. It's great that you both have your own hobbies and interests but they meld. The pictures are very interesting a little glimpse into another culture and lives. Especially interesting to me because I don't travel much. You don't like dogs much either do you lol :) Would be nice if all dogs and people had homes. Makes you appriciate the simple things in life.
Those are awesome, Saul! You have a great eye for photography. I'm so jealous of your and Danita's talent - I wish I had a 1/10th of it. :)
they are stunning Conchita I just wanted to take her home, she must have such a strength of character. They also give an insight into your country and yourself amazing what photos can do.
Wonderful Photos Saul!
