There is a sheepie-boy on PetFinder that looks to be in terrible condition. I tried to call the shelter to see if I could help make the boy more comfortable, didn't find them in so I emailed.
If anyone is in Kentucky that would like to help this poor boy, below is the link and info. Note that he is listed under simply "Sheep Dog" on PetFinder. Thanks.

Notes: My name is Lionel. I am guessed at 4 years of age. I was found roaming the countryside. I am gentle and happy. I was totally flea infested and briar scratched. I have lost lots of hair and am skinny as a rail, but all this doesn't impact how wonderfully well behaved that I am. I love everybody and ask only to have my head patted reguarly.
|Lionel is no longer listed. I hope that's good.|
|Hope so too! I did suggest they might want to list him under OES instead of just "Sheep Dog" because we sheepie lovers sometimes forget to search using just sheep dog. Hope he's already got someone to help.|
|Wow! Here's the update. Was that fast or what? Cheers to the family who saw the prince in his disguise and the shelter that took time to post him.

Thank you for your concern about our Lionel. Believe it or not, a very nice family visited with Lionel yesterday and decided to adopt him 'worts and all'. I don't think Lionel has mange but rather a severe reaction to a heavy flea infestation. The pink areas you see were covered in huge matts so that skin stayed moist and covered. The spots are now dry and he is not scratching nor does he have the mange odor. We have a vet coming to the shelter today and she will do a skin scraping and make sure. He has a wonderful temperament and the family intends to make him an inside dog. They have three wonderfully behaved daughters who were just delighted with this scroungy looking dog so I think things can only get better for Lionel. Thanks again.
|Yeah for Lionel!!!!!|
