Tim Hortons Smoothies

Ok, for our Canadian members (and some Americans, I know there are Timmy's in NY, PA, MI and OH now)
Who has tried the new Smoothies?
I am totally addicted. They make them using the opposite of hot chocolate, it's a hot vanilla, with whatever flavor shot you want added. They have raspberry, orange, butter caramel and hazelnut. I have tried all but the hazelnut. The raspberry is my favorite, it is soooo good. The orange tastes like a hot creamscicle, the butter caramel kind of tastes like a hot rum and butter lifesaver candy.
I was worried about the sugar in those things so I looked it up, and to my surprise the flavor shots themselves have no sugar, no fat and only 4 calories. The hot vanilla on the other hand has 260 calories, almost 9 grams of fat. LOL
The best part is that you can add the flavor shots to anything, ice cap, coffee, tea, whatever.

I'm drinking an orange smoothie now... but I'm promising myself this will now become an occasional treat only, otherwise I'll balloon like a whale.
The same thing happened when they first introduced the flavored cappucinos. I was addicted to english toffee for a while but eventually the novelty wore off. LOL

Anyway, just thought I would see if anyone has tried them. I'm home today because my youngest son got suspended for goofing off and not listening to the supply teacher yesterday. I'm going to work the night shift tonight, so I'll have to get all my forum time in during the day. LOL

Joan and I opened a brand new Tim Horton's in Scarborough, Maine this summer.

We went in on their first day. They weren't particularly busy -- so we thought. We were second in line. It took about 10 minutes for them to get the coffee for the person in front of us, and our coffee, tea, bagel and muffin.

So we sit down and enjoy our little breakfast. When we are done, we leave. We get into my truck. I start the truck, Joan lowers her window, and the automatic sprinklers come on in the parking lot soaking her through the window.

I went into let them know they ought not to turn those sprinklers on while people are in the parking lot, and someone says to me "Well, they're working on them now". I left.

We won't be back anytime soon.
Maybe we've just got more practice... here they can go through 30 people in that time. It takes no more than 30 seconds per customer. They actually time it. (that's an average, obviously some take longer and some less)
We have 5 Tim Hortons in our town with a population of 22,000 LOL All of them are ALWAYS insanely busy, but they have it down to an art... lineups are long, but they move FAST.
We understood the inexperience of the crew. We were annoyed by it, since they had at least 25 or 30 crew members crammed in there, half with "training crew" on their tags, and the parking lot was filled with cars from all over the easter seaboard (the trainers, I assume). But we understood it.

The reaction to telling them that Joan had just been soaked by their sprinkler system was just wrong. Some trainers.
I love Tim Horton's! I'm going home next weekend and there's one right near my house, I'll have to stop in and try one. I haven't seen any in Northern MI :(
I need to buy stocks it Timmy's. My whole office is addicted, and we do the Timmy run several times a day. Hubby tried the flavoured ones, and is addicted. I thought they'd be too caloric, but now that I know they are not, watch out! What I like about the drive-thru's is that if you have a dog in the car they give you a free Timbit for the dog. My shelties love them, but Bosley doesn't , so we eat his.

Remember it's just the flavor shot that isn't loaded with calories...lol... the smoothies are. So are the cappucinos.
Dancer doesn't eat her timbits either, but Sky does.
Our office does Timmy runs about 6 times a day, between 9am and 11pm. We have about 100-150 people per shift, and I'd say at least half of them either wants something from one of the bunch of people who is going to timmy's, or just go themselves. Our office is located in a business sector plaza... all offices and restaurants, and a beer store! LOL (some of our staff goes there instead of coffee  )
The Tim Hortons is located in the center of the whole plaza, so they get businnes from all the offices etc. The whole plaza takes up an entire block. East Side Marios, and West Side Wings are at their respective ends. Th guy from the commercials, East Side Mario's Vinnie (the bada boom bada bing guy) was actually at the restaurant here in town last week. He has a very large nose. LOL
Ok I've gone way off topic....
oh my! I am going to have to try the smooties when I go up to NY next week. I am already drooling. Damn preggie hormones...lol! DH took me to Tim Horton's back in July and knowing we are going up there for Thanksgiving I am already trying to figure out how I am going to get 4 days of Tim Horton's out of the trip...lol! The other must is Mighty Taco for you western ny'ers :D
I need to have Timmie's at least once a day. I swear they put something in their coffee that is addictive, besides the caffine. Because they hand out Timbits to the puppys, Bunker now barks when they take my order so they know she's in the truck. Now she thinks every drive thru gives her cookies. Its funny after going thru the bank drive thru cuz she just throws herself down in the seat and pouts.
OK. I had a raspberry smoothie on the weekend. OMG! It is like a hot, raspberry milk-shake, if that makes sense. Soooo yummy!
Next on my list to try is the Orange-flavoured...
Haha! Another one addicted to smoothies! LOL
Awwww man I haven't tried them yet...we aqre trying to cut back on out of home coffee spending....sigh=(

but soon, maybe this weekend.

Sorry Ron that you had a bad experience, and they were still working out all the kinks that day. Sprinklers are usually automatic aren't they, probably not something they tested, or time changed. They should have apologized tho, that was rude, and no one likes to get wet.

I am sure if you went to a more established business, and they have staff that have been trained, and works well...you'll find it alot better. We have 3 Tim Hortons near us, all of them busy, and long drive thrus...but it moves very quickly, unless someone orders a sub.
eeek. i cant imagine a hot smootie - ill guess ill have to go to the tim horton s in rochester and try it:)

Lol. I thought the same thing. It must be a Canadian thing...

It's not a smoothie as you and I know it though-- it's like a Starbucks Vanilla Cream with a flavor shot in it, which is also quite good. Vanilla Creams taste like Hot Marshmallow milk.
I had an orange one last nite. Yummy, too, but I prefer the Raspberry. Stacey, what have you done to me? And now that we are getting snow flurries I need something to keep me warm at the dog park with Bosley....and we have no choice but to pass by Timmy's on the way....Oh, well...that's my excuse, anyways!
I love the hazelnut flavour! It is not as icky sweet as their hot chocolate but not as strong as their hot cappuccino flavours, it is a nice middle of the road with just enough kick of sugar or caffeine to get you moving.
I tried a hazelnut shot in my ice capp this summer that was a nice treat too.
I am quite annoyed when I go in to a tim's now that doesn't offer smoothies.
I haven't tried the smoothies; will have to now. The dogs are addicted to the timbits, the streams of drool is disgusting when we drive anywhere near a Timmy's. Langley actually groans. all the ladies squeal with delight when they seem them.
Still as good 5 years on, Stacey? :D :D :D

(This thread is from 5 years ago!)
LOL Still addicted to Tims but haven't had a smoothie in forever....
