Professional pictures-am I nuts?

Am I nuts for wanting someone to come to my home to take professional portraits of Annie?

The full Petraits package includes a personalized album of 24 - 4 x 6 photos, a framed 8 x 10 or two framed 5 x 7's and three photo magnets. Also included are all proofs so I can order anything from photo mugs to holiday cards. All of this is $250.

Hubby thinks I'm going a bit overboard, but she is my first real baby (although 6 yrs old when we got her). I thought the price was reasonable for all that's included and think it's nice to have someone come to the house. I think Annie would be nervous walking through one of the shopping malls to those picture places. We don't have kids so I thought this would be fun. :D

I don't think you're nuts at all! :D :D I've looked into scheduling a similar thing, but outdoors at a nearby park, with a professional photographer (who did my sis's wedding). I'm going to wait until spring when Beau's coat has grown back out. But, I think it's a cool idea! :D
Now, did you really think that any one of us here wouldn't be in favor of this idea, LOL!?!?!
Go for it!!

Great idea! If I could get my 4 all groomed at one time and they would sit still I'd do it :)
Really, who was I fooling thinking any of you would think this was a silly idea. I just needed some confirmation :D

Thanks! We are scheduled for pics on 11/26. Annie will have been groomed the weekend before, but now I need another hair appointment for myself! I'll be sure to put some of the pics on the forum when available.
Some professional photographers will let you bring your dog to their studios if you ask nicely. Might be something to look into.

I've had Duds photograped professionally for a fraction of that cost, but also I didn't get as many photos, either.

Hope they come out great! :-)

I did it. And I took her in the mall to have it done. People were stopping and staring at her, asking if it was a real dog or a stuffed animal. Orginally it was just suppose to Bunker and I. Then My sister thought the wings would look cute. Had them done anyways, My Dad laughed at first, but he now has an 8 x 10 of Bunk in the wings on the wall at work.
Great idea!

Best wishes with the photo shoot!
Can't wait to see Annie's pictures..........

But after all , she's a star 8)
Wow!! Those are really good! :-) What a cutie!

GO FOR IT!!!!!! If you have the money I think you'll never regret it!!!

BUT, you have to post them when you get them done!!!! (It's the LAW!!!!!!)
caseroo has the right idea. my parents took their dog to the mall to have his picture taken. they only would make the apponitment towards the end of the day so my mother wasn't lugging her dog through the mall. probably when all was said and done she spent about $50.
I wish thats all that they cost. I spend about $300.00 but I got a lot of pics. I still have some left over.
I think it's a great idea! I would love to do that, but we have no where in town to have it done, and I never have time to go anywhere else.
That is sooo cute! I was wondering whose puppy the "angel dog" was! Gorgeous grooming job too! I can't wait to see pics of Annie all dolled up! Sometimes it is really nice to get someone who knows what they're doing to take a pic of your animal! I took Iris with me when she was a baby to have my senior pics done. She wouldn't sit still the entire time, and wanted to check out the whole studio  but it's so nice to look back at that pic and go "aww look at how young we were!" :)

Karen :)
Nuts? That's insane! (Altough I wish there was a photographer insane enough to let me bring two sheepies to his studio :( )

Great idea, specially if the photographer can come to your home! Goold Luck and let us know how the shots went!

Thank you but too bad she isn't angle all of the time. She was at the groomers all day before we went to have the pics taken. I have a question maybe some of you can answer. Does anyone else Sheepie have an extra long tongue? So many people comment on the size of her tongue. One man told me that "Holy cow, thats the biggest tongue I've ever seen!"
Clyde's tongue is pretty big too. Even with his mouth closed, it sticks out sometimes!
