We're back!

Well, our cruise vacation was everything I had hoped it would be! 8) The weather was a bit iffy for the first few days, but when it cleared off, it was perfect! The water was indescribably various shades of aqua, warm, inviting. The ship was beyond description - if I had to sum it up in one word, that would be HUGE!!!! 14 levels, 16 elevators, 3 pools, 5 hot tubs, a theater (for shows), an ice skating rink (which also converted to an auditorium with a dance floor), a mall, a casino, 4 restaurants, a full service gym, a full service hair/nail salon, a full service spa, a rock climbing wall, a miniature golf course, a basketball court, multiple ping-pong tables, an inline skating track, a walking/running track, a library, a jazz club, a few dance clubs, a full arcade and dance club for teenagers, facilities for activities for babies/toddlers, numerous little bars areas where live music was played. Don't think I've forgotten anything, but if I did - could you blame me??? 8O

Our stops were Aruba, Curacao, St. Maarten and St. Thomas. Our favorite was St. Maarten. Have to admit, though, mainly because of the weather when we were FORCED to shop in Curacao, we parted ways with a nice little chunk of change. Good thing our birthdays are this month and next - we used that as an excuse for some purchases! And Christmas, of course!

All in all, it was a glorious week away. Am getting the pictures back tonight, and I'm thinking of posting them on a photo share site but am not familiar enough with them to know which is best. Any suggestions??

Drez did just fine with our daughter. Her bladder infection cleared up, so she was an angel for Sarah. We missed the heck out of her, though! Kept thinking to ourselves - so how is our little girl? Probably because she was sick before we left. So I was very relieved to hear how good she was.

There were a bunch of groups on the ship. One was a party of 42!! We said the next time we go, we'll try to get others to go along, too. It was nice just being the two of us, but now that we're "veterans" of cruising, it would be fun with more people.

So, now it's back to the grind. But a good way to look at that is - I need the grind to pay for the next trip!!

Welcome Back, Chris!! We missed you!!

Your anniversary cruise sounds like it was wonderful! I can't wait to see pics!

Very glad to hear Drez did well for your daughter and that she's feeling better. I know you were happy to see her! :D
Yes, welcome back. Glad to hear the Drez is all better. Now you can relax without having to worry about her.
Drez- so glad you had a great time on your cruise! sounds like an absolute blast! I'd like to see the pics!!! What fun things did you get? I love hearing about others shopping exploits (Ok, so maybe it helps me live vicariously  ) Also glad you weren't on the ... ahem, "pirated" boat. Anybody else hear about that? Those poor people!

Karen :)
Yeah, glad you're back, Chris! It sounds nice...wish I were there...
Welcome back Chris! :) :clappurple:
So glad that youre back safe and sound. Im glad to hear that Drez is doing better too!!! So what are you waiting for...start chatting..lol
I'm glad you're back! I missed you! And I'm glad to hear Drezzie is doing better. For sharing photos, there are many many excellent choices. Shutterfly received PC Magazine Editor's choice. Photoworks.com looks like it has good gifts but I've never tried it. Google shows many more. . .
Welcome back! Sorry to hear you were forced to shop, that had to be the worst part of the trip
Welcome Home Chris :D
Glad to hear that you had a good trip...
Even better to hear that Drezzie is feeling better

I want to go on the cruise where I can bring Duds on board and there is a patch of grass on the aft deck for pottying. :-)

I really do feel very guilty when I have to take him to "Puppy Camp" (read the kennel) when I go away to places.

I have gone as far as to investigate private jet charters so I can take him with me to see our dog carting friends in LA. I would much rather him be in the seat next to me with the seat-backs and tray tables stowed than shoved in a crate in the cargo hold. I envision him geting sick and pooping in the crate during the flight, or worse - getting OUT of the crate during the flight and making a mess in the cargo.

sigh... Are there any sheepie people out there who are also pilots and can fly from Teterboro airport in NJ to Burbank in California? (both small airports) For slightly less than a small fortune? I priced shipping the Duds with me, and it was twice what my round-trip ticket would be. (for one way!)

~Katie.
Welcome home!

Your trip sounds awesome and I'm so glad to hear Drez is feeling better.

I have pictures on photobucket and ofoto, if that helps any.
Welcome Back!!! I'm sure Drez missed you too. Hope you're enjoying our thunderstorms today. Nothing like beautiful blue water and perfect skies and then returning to dreary PA!
Blow up one of you scenic pictures to wall size so you can at least pretend you're there!
WELCOME HOME!!!
PICTURES????????????????????????
I'm working on the pictures. Had 9 rolls (24 exp) to get developed (we have a 35mm camera)! I've loaded them on my home computer, and last night I sorted and put the comments with them. Now all I have to do is upload them to a photo share site. Will probably do that tonight.

The pictures told me one thing - I want to go back!!!

Chris
Welcome Back Chris!

Apologies for posting late as I swore I wrote a post welcoming you back already. Sounds as if you had a wonderful time and I can't wait to see your pics!
