Hello from Maryland

What a wonderful forum. I foung this about three weeks ago when I got a call from two ladies I do GSD rescue with. Telling me about an OESD that was headed for the pound. (a long story) I had a sheepy about 20 yrs ago. I picked this 14 week puppy up in the pouring rain(only to foster till I found him a home) Well he now has completed his immunizations, has a tag with his name on it. "Guinness" is here to stay! He has joined a yellow lab named Savannah, a black lab named Jack and a German Shepherd named Bailey the two latter were also only temporary dogs! My husband just fell in love with this little guy that my vet feels will weigh in at 90 to 100 lbs! My first OESD was wonderful. Not that this one isn't but he digs, eats dirt, barks at our horses, has itchy skin and lays sprawled out. Just looking at all the postings has helped. He is just about potty trained knows sit and down and has started training. (and will be neutered) He came from a breeder not far from me and has papers. Why people buy dogs and then want to turn into the pound because of puppy ways is beyond me!!! This person tried to resell him but could not. I think he is a typical OESD nothing wrong with that!!We see this a lot in rescue. Any way I just wanted to introduce my guys I don't know how to post pics yet but will when I figure it out. (I am a lile busy now!) Hopefully I won't need advice in the behavior postings but I feel I will get good advice. We are in Maryland, and the rain has finally stopped.

HaHaHa. I do sheltie rescue, and was contacted about an OES pup in a shelter back in early June. The skinny, sick pup was pulled for me, transported via a 6 hours drive and I picked him up at the transporter's home. We nursed him back to health, house-trained him, crate-trained him, got him neutered, and hmmmmm...he's still here and ain't going nowhere! LOL This forum has been an excellant resource to me regarding the OES breed. And Bosley is the most fun, clumsy, loveable, clumsy, playful, clumsy, pup to have around. Did I mention he was clumsy? I love to spend time with him :D .
Welcome to the forum!!!!!!!!!!

Guinness sounds like a cute fellow!
He'll have fun in a household with other dogs, as you know
