Murpy ate chicken wings! HELP!

I feel so bad!

We ordered pizza and wings last night and we had them on the table, we finished the wings and I developed a migrane and Grant led me up to bed...we then heard a bang! 8O Grant ran downstairs and Murphy had jumped on the table and ate the chicken wing bones! 8O

I have heard nothing but horror stories of chicken bones with doggies and I am very worried this morning! :( Murphy seems like he is fine...but is there anything I should be looking for? Should I take him to the vet? I feel like the worst Mommy in the whole world! There were 10 wings.

The Gooch was fast asleep during this whole incident, and didn't wake up (deaf dogs miss out sometimes  ) so I know it was only Murph that ate them.

Help please!

Dogs eat stuff that splinters all the time...(as per the post about wood! LOL) but that does sound like a lot..but chicken wings bones are small, too,..not like a big drumstick, so probably easier to digest. Personally, I wouldn't worry about it. Besides, one of my dogs catches robins and eats them! I also caught her swallowing a rabbit's leg, that was still fresh! Not sure where the rest of the rabbit was. But I would watch for anything different about him, because I will mention an experience we had in rescue 2 years ago. We took in a senior dog who had been left at a vet's clinic for a few days. We got him into our care and after a couple of days at the foster mom's he started going downhill. Wasn't happy, wouldn't eat or drink. At first we attributed it to the settling-in period, but when they woke up and found him lethargic he was rushed to the vet, examined, put on antibiotics, and he was then X-ray'd. He had a perferated bowel, and he was gone in a matter of hours. Looks like he had had the obstruction for a while, before we got him, but for whatever reason just really started to affect him at that time. Don't mean to scare you, because this can happen to anyone's dog who eats something sharp, that they can get anywhere. Just the signs of danger were quite obvious...lack of appetite, not drinking, lathargic...always signs that something is not quite OK with the pooch. To ease your mind you may want to take him in for X-rays...might be a good time to check those hips, at the same time, while he is under.....
Thanks! :D

There is definately no signs of lack of appetite or drinking water...or lethargy here!!!!

I will keep my eyes open though! :)
Colleen, I would definitely call the vet in the morning for advice just for your own peace of mind. Bailey ate something he shouldn't have on Friday night and I spoke to my vet Saturday morning - he gave a lot of the same advice as Bosley's mom. Keep a close eye on him, make sure his eating habits and bowel movements are normal. Any signs of lethargy, lack of appetite, vomiting, unusual bowel movements, bring him in for a check up. Fortunately all had been normal for Bailey, I'm sure he's wondering why I've been following him around in the yard checking out his "deposits"!
